I had the opportunity to document one of Dan's amazing project. Wonderful work for both: the esthetics and the practical aspects of the home. While I was taking photos the owners shared with me how pleased they were to have done this huge home transformation with Dan. Not only he is an expert, he also really cares for his clients and makes sure everything goes accordingly to the plans, the timing and the budget.

We have used Fortunato Architecture on 3 extensive renovations over the past 15 years and highly recommend Dan and his firm. One project was a split level remodel, one was a ranch remodel, and one was a detached garage, workshop addition. Dan is professional, knowledgeable, and very timely in his turnaround time. We were able to share ideas with what we wanted and he quickly put them into action. His knowledge with specs and codes allowed for quick permit approval and allowed us to stay on track with our time frame. There were times where we wanted to make a few minor changes during each construction, and he quickly made this happen so work could continue on schedule. Dan came out to the work site and was constantly available as needed to assist in any way possible. Fortunato Architecture is a Top notch firm.

Dan Fortunato is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and reliable individual that believes in doing the best for his clients. As expected in any construction/renovation projects, we ran into issues after opening up the walls and during permit process. I had a set of unfinished plans done by a so called "architect". Township needed these to be fixed and after many disheartening quotes and sales pitches, this guy flew in like superman and took care of business. Very fair price, 100% professional and super fast turnover. Updates and any township concerns were addressed immediately. Should anyone ask me for a reference or if I do any future work, Dan is the only guy I'm calling. Thank you!!

Dan worked off of a picture my daughter had researched as inspiration for redesigning the headboard to her bed. Dan used his contacts and found a barn that had recently been demolished and salvaged several wood pieces to create the distressed headboard. He went the extra mile and incorporated shelving between the wood slats as well. Not only did he design it's placement above the bed, he also did the installation. With the leftover pieces he fashion a rustic nightstand and holders for her guitars and makeup.

We have used Dan for two large projects. He was able in both cases to start with our ideas (particularly how we thought we would use the space) and turn them into something both functional and beautiful. At the outset and as the plans evolved, he was collaborative with us and our builders and always came up with solutions that pleased all of us (and the township inspectors). His approach in many cases (in my and the builders' estimations) was to specify materials and engineer structures that exceeded what might be minimum requirements -- We are big fans of this approach, as it adds a safety and durability margin that means we won't have to worry the next time a hurricane comes along or a heavy snowfall sits on the roof.

We recently completed our plans for an addition with Dan and had a great experience. Dan came recommended from a friend for whom he also recently completed a project. We had a couple design meetings where Dan listened to our ideas. We had some initial ideas but Dan came up with much better options. Dan very quickly created the initial drawings. We are very happy with the plans and they accomplished our goals. Once we settled on a final plan Dan also very quickly completed the final drawings.
