Gail did a fabulous job with our home renovation plans. She listened carefully to our goals, asked thoughtful questions and helped us settle on an appropriate size for our addition. She was creative and ensured that, like we wanted, the addition blends into the existing house and surrounding area. Her knowledge of insulation and technical details is impressive. In addition, Gail responded in a timely fashion, which is a rarity these days! We are just thrilled with the plans she produced for us, which have now been built into a wonderful addition. We are absolutely thrilled with our remodeled home and addition that was designed by Gail. Gail's listening skills, attention to detail and creativity exceeded our expectations at each and every step in the design process. Starting with an initial consultation that included magazine clippings and Gail with her sketchpad, our dream quickly became reality. During the construction phase, Gail worked closely with our builder to arrive at solutions to the many detailing problems that arise when constructing a custom home. On the weekends, when we are outside working in the yard, we are often interrupted by passersby, who complement us on the construction of our beautiful home that is now a part of their neighborhood. Gail worked very hard for us, especially when we decided to redo the plans for cost savings and the size of the house. The house came together beautifully with its wide porches and dormers opening up lighting up second floor and great room on the first. Gail was great to work with her input and knowledge of what would work and what wouldn't, made the process of designing a home that much easier. Gail is a very talented architect, a pleasure to work with, and has unusual creativity. We began design of a new home with Gail Hallock, Inc. in April, 2011 after working with a number of other architects for about a year on preliminary designs. It was important to us that the architect understood the project holistically. Most seemed to concentrate on the exterior and not the livability & flow of the interior - requirements important to us. Gail deftly sketched throughout our conversations making sure we were on the same page. She was adept at picking up our 'style'. She does not produce cookie-cutter homes. During construction Gail handled problems adroitly and turned many into an opportunity to take something and make it even better. The creativity that Gail demonstrated with our home amazes me even today, a year after taking up residence. There's not a day that goes by that I don't look at some detail Gail created and think how beautiful it is and how lucky I am to live here. Gail is also one of the kindest people I have come across, plays well with others and was a strong and demonstrative advocate making sure that our home was built exactly as specified and with the correct materials throughout the project. We feel very fortunate to have found her. She does wear some fairly silly hats.
