About Us

The transformation of an idea, dream or concept into a building, residence or space is a rewarding and satisfying experience. An architect must guide an owner thru the process with understanding, sensibility and excellent communications. Gary incorporates an owner's goals into a design solution that is efficient, practical and pleasing. Gary Nurnberger is a sole practitioner with 39 years of experience in Commercial & Residential Architecture and interior design. His work includes new construction as well as alterations to existing structures in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York. Historic preservation, adaptive re-use, feasibility studies, swimming pool design and construction management are all frequent components of his practice. Prior to founding his own firm he worked for 3 award winning Architects and Interior Design firms after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1972. Gary is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is a LEED accredited practitioner. He is certified by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism as a Historical Architect under the standards of the US Secretary of the Interior.

Gary is very accommodating. The building inspector had some questions and Gary addressed then in a timely fashion. I would Definately suggest working with Gary and I also would use him again. Not a complaint. Easy to work with....returns calls and answers his phone always.

I am a contractor who has been in business 20 yrs on my own and in a family business before that my 10 yrs before that and I have had the pleasure of working with Gary a few times now and he is very detailed person and a pleasure to work with. I also find that his understanding of the other trades help deliver the jobs on time and on budget. I have also just hired him to do a renovation design for my home. In closing I recommend him whole heartily and he is a class act.

My husband and I worked with Gary over the course of about a year, to design our custom home. Gary conducted himself with the utmost professionalism, and is very easy to work with. He listened well, and offered excellent advise along the way. We appreciate Gary's talent and experience. We had some very specific requests and Gary easily accommodated them. We are extremely happy with the end result!

We purchased an open concept home that was TOO open. We needed a design solution to expand and define the dining room, provide privacy for a powder room and, yet, still maintain the sense of openness. Gary spent time brainstorming with us and was instrumental in giving us the perfect design solution, one we weren't even considering! He provided excellent construction administration and permitting services as well as solving a complex structural issue. Well worth it, very easy to work with, highly recommend!
