George came to my project with great ideas and an open mind. He thought of so many things we would have missed. Unfortunately our bid on the place fell through, but I will definitely use him in the future.

I recently purchased a foreclosed property on Mercer Island. George worked with me in a number of areas: 1) Prior to purchase GDW did some preliminary inspection of the property to estimate the repair and remodeling costs that the house would need. This helped in the evaluating a purchase price that would work for me. 2) After the purchase the house needed some specific repairs to get a full occupancy certificate. GDW was able to work with all the entities in the Mercer Island planning and development department to expedite the repairs and coordinate the inspections to get all the certifications. GDW seemed to have a good relationship with all of the planners and inspectors in the department so the process was painless. 3) Since the purchase I have used GDW for guidance on specific remodel projects and landscaping ideas. GDW has always been professional and has a wealth of design knowledge. He knows how to work with the complexities of the Mercer Island permitting process and has the respect of people who work in the agencies. I would highly recommend using GDW on future projects.

George helped me with a client who was purchasing a home in Shoreline. She wanted to build a detached accessory dwelling unit (ADA) on the property. George was able to help her work with the city of Shoreline to determine the project was indeed possible, how much square footage the home could be and also the required set backs. He was also helpful in explaining how supplies and materials would need to be transported through the back yard. By consulting with George, my client felt comfortable in making her home purchase and therefore resulting in a sale, contributing to my bottom line in 2015 and producing a happy client. I've also had the opportunity to see George's finished mid-century remodel designs and finished product and was thoroughly impressed. George Wittman was a pleasure to work with, timely with his drawings, and provided us exactly what we had asked/contracted for. To date, Mr. Wittman provided us proposed schematic drawings in anticipation of a project to remodel our home's front door entry. Though we have not proceeded further than the conceptual design for the project, I am confident Mr. Wittman would have been a positive influence in completing the project. Of particular note, Mr. Wittman listened to our input, provided insightful/thoughtful comments, and readily revise his drawings to satisfy our requests. I would highly recommend him to anyone who asked for my input.

As a Builder/Remodeler, it's always exciting to construct something unique and with character. George has a solid understanding of materials and how they relate to both space and setting. We're currently in the beginning stages of value engineering-- working closely with George and the family to design a home specific to their budget yet distinct in style. Having George on board throughout the design, value engineering and seeing through the final design details helps ensure a successful project. His thoughts, opinions and vision will be invaluable both for the family and builder/remodeler.

Working with George is a treat! He's organized, creative and has cutting edge ideas. I've seen several projects he's completed and they are the perfect marriage of "Form and Function" for a complete package. This seems to be very challenging for many architects, but George has it down! He is also budget conscious and willing to work within your budget, whether it is large or tight. I would recommend George to anyone wanting a fun building experience, rather than a headache.

The architectural design services and support we experienced were outstanding. Foremost, the design for our vacation home was excellent, within our desires and exceeding our expectations, aesthetic, practical, and nicely detailed. George Wittman was always available, took great care with detail and support throughout design and construction, and was a pleasure, without exception, to work with on the project. At numerous points in the project when ideas were needed, it was interesting that each time George came up with ideas that always elevated the project.

George is an extremely talented Architect. George has an artists eye, balanced with a practical view of what will work and what will not, and is always mindful of trying to keep project costs under control, while not compromising the integrity of the final result. George's design turned our ordinary home into a work of art, resulting in the house being selected as the home of the month in April last year by Seattle Magazine and the AIAI in Seattle. He has a clear vision of what will look best in a project, but is also mindful that it is your property, and that the design needs to reflect your tastes and desires. He did such a beautiful job on both the addition to our home, and the major interior remodel of the rest of the house that followed the addition. I truly love everything about his design of our home, highly appreciate how easy he is to work with, and can say honestly that I would use him again in a heartbeat. I interviewed three Architects, all well respected. To make sure I choosing the right Architect, I had all three submit initial designs, after meeting with them and showing them examples of architectural design that appealed to us. Honestly, at the start, George was the long shot. I had a great initial connection with one of the other Architects, and assumed I would end up working with him. The second Architect worked regularly with our contractor, so he also had an edge in my mind. Thankfully I took the time to give all three a chance. The first two had very nice designs, but they didn't really excite either me or my husband. Then George arrived with his design, and there was no longer any question. His design blew the other two right out of the water, and was something we were very excited about. The best part is I'm even happier with the result than I was with the initial design!

We have consulted with George a number of times over the years. We have also had the pleasure of seeing many of his works. His level of expertise, creativity and professionalism are outstanding. We highly recommend George Wittman.

Hello, My name is Martin Prouty and I am a General Contractor. George Wittman AIA was very professional architect and project manager on this 2 condo building in Pasadena. He helped in the design of the Contemporary Craftsman type of building. He also acted as a great project manager during the construction. George always would respond with fine details regarding changes in the process due to mechanical, plumbing, electrical or structural issues. Unfortunately for George and myself, I am not able to do projects with him due to are life decisions of moving. I currently live in Hawaii and George lives in Washington. I have seen many of his projects and wish I could be involved with him on the construction end. George is very thorough on details and sticks with the vision of the project. By being this particular he accepts only perfection which most project managers just are more interested in the completion date. Marty
