We hired John and Jeff to design our new home. We wished to build a home that would fit into our neighborhood where most of the homes were built in the 1920s. Jeff and John listened carefully to our wishes and then created a beautiful Tudor design. Their attention to detail is astonishing! They worked with us through the entire build process. We had weekly onsite meetings where John surveyed all the work to make sure it was to plan and was correct. They are extremely knowledgeable about the whole build process. I was very dubious that a 1920s Tudor could be built today, but they did it! Many passerbys think our house has "always been there". Oh, and did I mention that they are extremely funny! They really did make this somewhat stressful undertaking a lot of fun! I highly recommend John and Jeff!

Jeff Harting and John Toniolo are the talented architects who created a facelift of our entire house plus an addition of several rooms including separate garages. Challenged to keep the house overall size to a minimum scale and reflect the warm and inviting character of an English Tudor, they accomplished both of these. Northshore Design and Building Group, northshorebuildinganddesign.com, provided the team of professionals to tackle the project. Both my husband and I are in the building / design trade business, and cannot be more pleased with the final outcome that Gensburg Toniolo Harting Architects provided during all phases of the construction. Even the most challenging structural problems such as installing new steel I-beams for interior walls were solved efficiently. Our home now has the charm and creative touches we had dreamed about. Collaborating over many years has been a wonderful experience and we could not have successfully completed this project without the synergy of Jeff and John and our team.

We saw a GTH project in a magazine and knew immediately they were the architect for us. We were not disappointed. What we particularly appreciated was the collaboration. It was our first time building a home and even after our one millionth question Jeff and John were patient, helpful and gave great guidance. They had strong opinions on things but always kept our best interest at heart. We have been in the house almost a year now and absolutely love it. We're never leaving.

GTH Architects recently completed design on two major additions and a remodel of our 1920s Georgian home. We cannot speak highly enough of the results. It's impossible to tell where the old house meets the new, and no small detail was overlooked inside or outside the home. Not only was their design beautiful, but they were there for us on site consistently throughout the project. Their talents combined with their great personalities & upbeat attitude make them a pleasure to work with. Jeff and John are an amazing, dynamic team. They helped my husband and I transform a unique, award winning 20-year-old modern home into our dream home. Our newly purchased home had good bones but felt unfinished and needed some serious upgrades. Jeff is truly a visionary! He listened carefully to our desires, considered the minimalist nature of our home and proposed a concept that was right on. Jeff is not only good with the big picture but also with all of the design details, some of which really made our home special. Jeff has a keen eye for design and I felt lucky to have Jeff help me select finishing touches that really make our home stand out. Jeff also worked with our kitchen designer and landscape designer to ensure our home would flow seamlessly throughout. John is so talented! He was there every step of the way. Once construction started, I met with him and the contractor weekly to check on the progress, address issues and meet with specialists, such as engineers. Anyone that has remodeled a home understands that you will face many obstacles and be presented with ‘surprises’ along the way. John was there each week to help work through these issues. His input and advice was invaluable during the process. Jeff and John complement each other well and together they possess a wide variety of knowledge, skills and talent. Oh, and they were FUN to work with too. I welcome the opportunity to work with them again in the future.

Harting and Toniolo provide a phenomenal ability to truly listen and then translate that vision into reality. First class custom design with follow-up and attention to detail throughout the finished product. We made some changes mid-project and needed to remain patient and we are glad we did so. Jeff and John truly compliment each other with their own skill sets that weave together the essential components from initial design to punch list completion. We enjoyed working with them and now consider them friends.

Working with these talented architects was a pleasure. We had specific needs and expectations to seamlessly expand our 100+ year old home. Jeff Harting met with us and really listened. The finished result is an amazing award winning home that we are proud and so comfortable to raise our family in.
