To Gabriele We had the opportunity to work with Gabriele to create our new home. We wanted a house design that would enable us to age in place while accommodating our current needs of having adult children as well as an elderly parent live with us. In short, the design needed to meet current needs as well as meet future needs. It was a big task and Gabriele and his design came through for us! There were a lot of constraints that we knew about (narrow lot, shared driveway, proximity of neighbouring houses, mature trees near the building site, aging in place requirements) and Gabriele guided us through the process. However, Gabriele really came through when the neighbour's foundation took a strange jog which only revealed itself well after the regular assessments were made and the digging begun. Our contractor called in Gabriele and the city inspector and within 24 hours, signatures were obtained, permits were issued, and the issue was resolved. We really appreciated how quickly and smoothly Gabriele stepped up and worked with the city to get the permits organized. We’re in the house now and still unpacking. Nevertheless, we are already enjoying the layout and the architectural touches. Our neighbours have stopped to tell us how much they love the exterior design of the house as it reflects the rest of the neighbourhood. So, we and our neighbours recommend Gabriele!

We found that he adapted and overcame the challenges very quickly. Our virtual meetings went very well and he used technology in a way that still allowed for a creative and interactive process. Gabriele’s interaction with other professionals such as contractors, engineers, and designers is where you will experience his high degree of professionalism. You do not have to worry about waiting for anything because Gabe is always on top of everything, even before you've thought of it. There are many choices for architects in the GTA. I hired Gabrielle from Geometra Design to design my 3600 sqft newly built home in Toronto in 2019. The home is a contemporary Georgian style home with a open concept interior. During the interview process I realized that Gabrielle’s attention to detail was extremely impressive. Gabrielle and I initially scouted the surrounding streets of the home to ensure our elevation would suit the area. I felt that this step was pivotal in the pre-design stage. While in the design, he respected my ideas and was not hesitant to try different concepts to accommodate me. His experience with working with city made for a stress-free permit process. Geometra’s Site visit during construction stage were pivotal in having the project goes smoothly. Gabriel has since kept in communication after the project was completed to ensure the home was built to accommodate all my wishes. I feel comfortable using Geometra again for any future projects.

A friend recommended Gabriele for our second floor addition and main floor gut, from initial meeting, brain storming ideas , concepts and design he guided us through the process and provided creative ideas for maximizing space while still maintaining the aesthetic we are looking for. His plans have been faultless, the contractor has never needed clarification and the City never had issue. This was our first time undertaking a major reno project to our 'forever' home and we were glad we hired a real pro like Gabriele before choosing a builder because we wanted someone that would put our interests first. He designed floor-plans, elevations and structural components of our home, for a full-gut reno with additions. Attentive to detail from the very first meeting, he listened to our plans, ideas and toured our home inside and out to get a sense of the current conditions and lot. He does a great job of presenting you with options and has a sense of what features will work well. Gabriele was very cognizant of designing the architecture of our home to fit the neighbourhood, which is what we wanted. We'll soon have a place that looks tasteful, rather than some builder's 'house-flipping' project that sticks out like a sore thumb. He also had knowledge of the appropriate energy conservation elements and current building codes for our scenario as well as features that would help for 'aging in place', for those folks like ourselves that will be taking care of elderly parents. Along the way were also some structural hurdles to plan through (e.g. tight spaces on the lot, underpinning and foundation work). Gabriele brought in the right professionals including for engineering and soil analysis and he seamlessly incorporated their assessments into the building plans. These professionals were also very thorough and great to work with. Zoning Review, Committee of Adjustment and Building Plan Review/Permits was no sweat - we also hired him to handle these and he got us through these steps with ease. Highly recommended him and it would be a pleasure to work with Gabriele again!

We recently hired Geometra Design to design a very intricate project in Bloor West Village. Within a few weeks, Gabrielle designed a stunning design turning a 750 sqft bungalow into a 3200 sqft three storey house with a front addition and a new 8ft basement. His ideas were fresh and very well thought out. He has great knowledge of the area and has done many projects in our neighbourhood, which gave us a competitive advantage when pleading our case at committee of adjustment for a few minor variances that were very important to us. It was important to us to find someone with a lot of experience but also someone who communicates well and is responsive. Gabriel designed our home on a property we purchased (with a tear-down house) in the Rouge Valley, Ontario. He was able to take my brainstormed vision of a dream home and translate it into a reality. After several trips to city hall, in order to obtain the correct permits, questions arose that I could not answer. Gabriel was able to assist with this and demonstrated his complete working knowledge with regards to specifications required to obtain said permits. The whole process from start to finish was smooth and efficient and the end result speaks for itself. I hired Geometra Design for the construction of a front and rear addition. Gabriele is a consummate professional, he created designs that accurately captured what we wanted and successfully obtained city permits involving some complicated typical city of Toronto calculations. He has a good understanding of the various city bylaws which assisted us in being able to obtain the city permits, no questions asked. I worked with Mr. Guiducci on the design and build of our home on the shores of Georgian Bay. I had a good idea of what I wanted, where the principal rooms should be and what were the "must haves" like an eyebrow window on the lakefront, a barrel ceiling in the living room and strong opinions on things like bookcases in the hallways and how my kitchen should be laid out. From the very first meeting, our project was in good hands. Mr Guiducci had to work with a difficult site (severe slope towards the lake), deal with all of the municipal bylaws, communicate with our building contractor, prepare drawings, applications for building permits, and so much more than I can ever imagine. Some of my more ambiguous instructions, like "please make the garage pretty because I can see it from the kitchen sink" were met beyond my expectations. He worked equally well with my husband and his desire for a modern fireplace in the house and the requirements for his workshop in the garage. The fee for Geometra Design's services was the best money we spent on the entire project. Mr. Guiducci's impeccable taste and professionalism made working with him a pleasure and my husband and I are very grateful.

My review will be rather different than others'. Gabriele visited our place last week for the initial consultation, but we decided not to hire him as our architect. In short, not because of his quality of work (other Houzz reviews attest to his caliber as an architect), but because of his professionalism. There were two instances where we weren't sure of Gabriele's intentions. During our conversation he asked us our occupation and whether we have our own business. Not sure if he was trying to gauge our budget or wealth. These questions were right after he was asking us our $ value of budget. The second instant was when he asked us "why did you buy this house anyway?", right after making a comment about how confusing is the layout of our house. Gabriele did ask us for our thoughts and provided suggestions on the possible layout of the property, etc..... But those two instances turned us off...

Gabriel was extremely co-operative during the design process. his work was turned over in a timely fashion, and required very few changes to his original design. to me, this is the result of experience and ability.

Gabe brings a great balance of budget, design flare and technical knowledge. He quickly did up preliminary drawings and concepts for our review so that we could "contemplate" the space while he worked in the background arranging for the various professional experts in electrical, HVAC and structural engineering. I hired Gabriele Guiducci of Geometra Design last year to design the interior of a 6,500 sq ft home in Toronto. The house was previously used as a rooming house and was a total gut project. Gabriele designed the interior of the house so efficiently and within a matter of 3 meetings we had final plans ready for submission to the City of Toronto for permit. Once Gabriele's "official work" was done and I had paid him his very reasonable price, he continued to pass by the house during all of the phases of construction and finishing, showing an honest and genuine interest in the project and giving freely of his time and advice. I hired Gabriele and his company, Geometra Design in June 2012 to design a 3,500 square foot, 2 storey home that I will be building in south Etobicoke. Gabriele was able to complete concept design, committee of adjustment application and meeting, building permit design and application in less then 5 months. He was able to accomodate all aspects of the building permit requirements, including mechanical engineer, structural engineer and final renderings. His professionism and approach to the project, including deadlines was unsurpassed. He was able to facilitate all my needs, from design to building permit application (which in Toronto in not easy). His knowledge of the new digital building permit application requirements, made my application process very easy. I was told at the City of Toronto building department that most people do not have all the documents in the required format, but my application was perfect.
