George and his talented team made it possible to turn our Chautauqua Lake cottage into our forever “Dream” home. They made the process seamless including many revisions after discovering a lack of a foundation and many other “surprises “ along the way. The project included reconfiguring most of the first floor living space, adding 900 sqft on 2nd floor, new kitchen, windows, roof, siding, concrete and so much more. We can’t thank them enough and are forever grateful!!

We used George Clemens on two occasions, first to design our new home, and then again when we decided to add a first floor master and expanded porch. He brings a deep knowledge of both classical and modernist traditions to his work, and is always professional and easy to work with. Five stars!

Working with George and his team (shoutout to super star Peter!) was a dream. I used houzz pics to help share what our vision for our kitchen was, and when we saw the mockup of what it would look like, we were blown away. He also found us our dream contractor to bring it all to life, and somehow the final product came to life perfectly. I hear horror stories about construction projects, and I can say George (and John the amazing contractor) made this down-to-the-studs 6 month project super manageable. Couldn’t recommend the Clemens team enough!

George Clemens Architecture designed a beautiful second-story addition to our single-story ranch home. George and his team were a pleasure to work with through the whole design and renovation process. From the very beginning, we were completely at ease with George and his associate Peter Nogay. Our first impression has been more than justified by the beautiful results. George provides an integrated design, approvals, and construction supervision process. This helped make us comfortable with the construction process. George makes each stage of the process clear from the very first meeting. At the initial design stage, George has a great ability to translate half-formed ideas into concrete plans. George doesn’t push his own style. Instead, he asks good questions to understand your likes, wants, and needs. The design process was quick, with only minimal revisions due to George’s careful listening and attention to detail. George and his team learned exactly what we liked, and then gave us a design that was even better than we imagined. Their second-floor addition design made it look like the house was always meant to be that way while making only minimal changes to the existing, recently renovated first floor exterior. Also, George was very conscious of our budget constraints, and delivered a design that maximized the value of our construction funds. The design came with several pleasant surprises. Through clever arrangement of space, George and his team delivered four good-sized bedrooms when we initially believed that only three would be possible. And, although the space for a master bath was limited, the good layout George and his team provided allowed us to have a large shower, freestanding tub, and double vanity. After living in the house now for over six months, we are still amazed at how spacious the compact master bath feels. During the architectural review process, George’s skill and experience were really on display. George’s experience and judgment allowed us to avoid pitfalls with the local architectural review board, even though our design was (deliberately) a bit quirky. Under his guidance, our design passed the review process with ease. George was also very helpful both in hiring, supervising, and helping us to communicate clearly with the contractors. We really appreciated his calming presence during the demanding construction process. George was able to connect us with a perfect general contractor for our specific project. The recommended contractor was also very capable and easy to work with. Additionally, George knew exactly who to consult to resolve a question about our foundation. Overall, we are very happy with George and his team. They deliver great work, and good value for their fee. George, Peter, and the entire team are pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable people, and they made the renovation process straightforward and easy. We highly recommend George Clemens Architecture for your project.

A decaying porch roof on our traditional 1925 Cleveland Heights home gave us the perfect opportunity to expand our outdoor living space. What I didn’t imagine at the time was that this new porch, more than double the size and now with a kitchen area, fireplace, and plenty of seating, would look like it should have been in the original plans. We chose George Clemens Architecture for their attention to detail that made this porch both beautiful and so wonderful to enjoy. We would use George and Brian again for their presence in the project from beginning to end – working with the contractors, just stopping by to check on progress, discussing details and knowing decisions made previously, and being generally very pleasant and responsive.

George and his crew did an impeccable job on our home renovation project. We bought our home last year knowing we were going to have to do some major changes as it was very dated. We were also dealing with spacing issues inside and out due to variances, easements, etc. I never thought we would get the results we did. I argued a few of George and Heathers ideas but they did not back down. They explained why they felt that was the right way to go. They included all of our wants and needs plus added their own. Our project is just about complete and we could not be happier. It's gorgeous. George, Heather and the rest of the group are spot on!! We did a complete kitchen renovation, bar/gathering area, screened in porch, outdoor stone patio, and updated several areas in the entryway, living room and dining room.

George is amazing to work with. He has a beautiful eye for style and function, and is also very open to suggestions and collaborations with his clients. George designed a back porch for our older home (built in 1901) that matches beautifully and looks like it has always been there! He also helped us redesign the interior flow of the back of the house with a few small changes that really improved the functionality. He took every bit of our feedback seriously and was patient when we made changes, and now that it's done we are so happy with the results! Brian was wonderful as well - very responsive and helpful, even coming to the jobsite immediately when we faced a complication with the design during construction. I can't recommend the two of them highly enough!

We have done three projects with George, two of which were in another state. Our contractor told us that due to George’s attention to detail and experience working with Historical Architectural Boards, our plans flew through the approval process, with no comments! It was a major new house build and the contractor had not experienced that before with the HARB. Other project was a kitchen remodel with extensive structural change needed due to the age and condition of the house. George worked closely with the contractor and the end result is fantastic. Our Chagrin property work included a screened in porch and new entry addition.

George Clemens designed a small addition for our older home that made a huge impact. He listened to our needs and found creative solutions to improve our home's flow and curb appeal. George made our home much more functional and beautiful and I would work with him again without hesitation.

Rustic Kitchen remodel George designed our dream kitchen. We started by showing him some photos demonstrating the style and feel we wanted to create. He’s creative, easy to work with and worth every penny.

We have a 100 year old home that had been in the family for 55 years and we wanted a design for a sensitive expansion that didn’t look like an addition. George understood immediately and helped us design a project that achieved all our objectives. Many people visit us and are astounded to learn that there has even BEEN an addition! George didn’t design to what HE wanted, but has a unique ability to understand what WE WANTED - and helped us achieve just that.

George and Heather were fantastic through every step of the project! They listened, were creative with ideas and solutions to customize the spaces and always prompt with their responses. I can’t imagine designing a home with anyone else!

We did a major renovation earlier this year. George and his team were truly outstanding. From the start, he listened to our thoughts, thoroughly reviewed our Pinterest boards and returned to us promptly with various ideas, most of which we incorporated. Throughout the process, he not only was patient with some of our running changes but was proactive on how to make it even better! He worked seamlessly with the contractor and interior designer and was quick to bring to resolution differing opinions. George frequently visited to insure the quality of the work was at his standards (which are higher than ours). But the talent goes beyond George. He has a very talented team, many of whom were involved in various aspects of the project. For ALL future projects, I will not even think about moving forward without using George and his team. They were great!

We hired George Clemens to do a master suite on our home. We have lived here 49 yrs and have done other projects with different architects. That included an added dining room, very large enclosed porch, and a very large expanded kitchen. We found in George a person who listened to our requests and included everything we asked for including finding the perfect place for some antique stained glass windows. We had not experienced this before. He was fair with pricing and kept it in our range. He also tweaked some changes we asked for, no problem. He is a delight to work with!!

George Clemens and team are outstanding at what they do. They specialize in residential architecture and give it their full attention. They are equally capable with new construction or renovations. I've built two new homes with other architects, and most recently a major renovation with George. I think the renovation was far more work because of the challenge of working with all the existing forms, both good and bad. George did a wonderful job of keeping the original character of the home, but also creating a much more modern and functional space. Finally, George is collaborative and easygoing. Clemens Pantuso Architecture is a very professional, knowledgeable and well-respected firm. We chose George Clemens in 2012 to renovate our 1928 center hall Colonial due in part to his extensive work with historic homes, his interest and unique perspective on the use of light and his experience locally with the Zoning and Architectural Review Boards. George successfully transformed our home creating more open space and light while maintaining it's traditional feel. He was involved with every aspect of the 11-month project from architectural design to paint colors to small finishing details. He collaborated regularly with the design team and contractor. The work of George, the design team and the contractor resulted in a hugely successful project. Based on this experience, we engaged Clemens Pantuso and George Clemens to work on the renovation of our 1880's Carriage house which began in October 2018 and is scheduled to be completed mid-September 2019.

The team at Clemens Pantusco are great to work with. They are very creative, and provided us with design ideas we never would have contemplated. Their communication throughout the project was outstanding.

George and his team are the best I've ever worked with. If you are planning a renovation of any size, I wouldn't do a single project without George on my team. We decided to build a home on Lake Erie about an hour and a half from our home. There were plenty of options in that area for architects. For us, we wanted to work with no one else other than George Clemens. Sitting down with him and discussing our dreams for our lake home was actually fun... not stressful. We are thrilled with the design concepts that he fulfilled for us and even more for the ones he introduced us to as we progressed into the project. George is super professional and friendly. Our experience with George went so well that when it became time for another project of downsizing from our 20 year family home, we again went to George for his best advice for remodeling a small home in our lovely village of Chagrin Falls. He helped us make the best options for making a small house suit all of our living needs as we enter into a retirement phase of our lives. We worked with Clemens Pantuso to completely transform a poorly designed Colonial. A Craftsman-styled exterior was designed and executed that we now love coming home to. Details including a huge porch, large trim, and stone accents were added that give our house great curb appeal. Clemens Pantuso was easy to work with and we highly recommend!

I hired Clemens Pantuso Architecture for a very large kitchen and family room renovation in our 1927 Brick Georgian home. They were wonderful at being true to the period of the home while creating a space for modern living, they partnered well with us on the plans and design, and collaborated seamlessly with our general contractor throughout the project. The process of working with this firm was fun and easy and the results are very beautiful, livable, and practical.

I cannot say enough positive things about Clemens Pantuso Architecture. The architects and the entire staff were with us from the moment we decided to purchase the house, through all the plans and revisions and the complete construction process. They advised me on every decision we needed to make and were always so willing to meet with me again and again to make sure that every choice was well thought out. The design and the quality are top notch. Four years later, we still marvel at the transformation that Clemens Pantuso achieved for us. We stayed very close to the original estimate and they were accommodating and informative whenever changes were needed.

George was the third architect we interviewed and knew right away he would be the one for our job. From our initial consultation thru the end of our project George and his staff was very professional, knowledgeable, creative and had great communication. When we bought our 1949 bungalow it was small, boxy, lacked a foyer, a mudroom and an attached garage. On a small budget and with only adding about 200 sq. Ft, George was able to transform our house and give all the above. He doubled the size of our kitchen, gave us a foyer, and a mud room with an attached garage. One of the best things about our project I love is it feels like the way the house was built, not a remodel. It flows from front to back and top to bottom like it was originally built this way. As mentioned above, one of the best qualities about George and his staff is their communication. Whenever I, or the contractors were unsure about something we would get an answer very quickly. We are looking forward to using Clemens Pantuso Archicheture again soon .

We very much enjoyed working with George Clemens during a renovation of our family room. He was very thorough in his work. His design was excellent and we love our new room!

George and his staff did a great job of transforming the exterior of our house. They took a very plain house and by adding several creative details, especially around the front door entryway, gave the house interesting trim lines and greatly enhanced the overall curb appeal. He also helped in obtaining permits and was very involved in the project from beginning to end.

We used George Clemens to design our kitchen and great room. We had several designers come and give their ideas. But when George came in, his ideas were creative and just made sense. George is simply talented. Our kitchen and family room came out beautifully!! He rearranged our space to be more space efficient with a better flow and creativity. We are extremely pleased with the new cottage design results of George Clemens and team at Clemens Pantuso Architecture. We are located in a historical district in St Augustine, Florida and it was important for the new design to match the main historical 1903 Key West Victorian house on the property. George's attention to the smallest detail allowed the plans to fly through the Historical Architectural Review Board process! He was also readily accessible to discuss any changes with our builder. Everyone that has seen the cottage is "wowed" by how charming it is and how well it just flows with the main house. We couldn't be more pleased.

George Clemens understood instantly what we were trying to achieve when we asked him to help us expanded our 1923 farm house. Right from the start his design suggestions were perfectly in line with our objectives, and the final result couldn't have been more satisfactory! He managed to sympathetically add or expand the master bath and dressing room along with adding an upstairs laundry and lower floor four-seasons room that's become our favorite. He never pushed, never hurried. No design element was complete until we were all totally happy with it. On top of that, he recommended a contractor who executed our concept to perfection with meticulous budget records and on-time delivery with expert craftsmen. Think I'm going over the top? Not at all -- this experience was top drawer from initial meeting to final handshake. We're so happy and would recommend Clemens Pantuso Architecture to anyone.

From start to finish, George Clemens' professionalism was exemplary. He responded quickly to my request for a meeting to discuss the scope of the work. When hired, he made himself available to discuss any issues that needed to be addressed and resolved.

No architect in Chagrin Falls has more respect from the community than George Clemens. This is because he is known for taking historic homes, sometimes over 100 years old like ours, and graciously updating them while retaining their true historic nature. George helped us remedy some earlier additions to our home that were inconsistent with the home's architectural style (Queen Anne), while creating a space that our family could truly cherish as functional and meeting our needs. It is difficult to tell the new from the old, and that was exactly what we wanted. We didn't want people to walk in and say, "Oh, this must be the new part of the house." They don't. Instead, they say, "Oh, you are so lucky to have the original hardwood floors." (The floors are reclaimed Heartpine), or "Wow, look at the original fireplace" (Which was designed by George to incorporate antique Victorian tile). Old homes can present a unique challenge and George is exceptionally good at meeting those challenges in a creative, thoughtful, detailed manner to bring out not only beauty, but function as well.

We just completed our second whole house renovation with the Clemens Pantuso Architecture team. They are masters in the way they balance the needs of each one of us, while maintaining the integrity of the original century home in the community. They are now part of our extended family and are always our first call when we get the urge to work on another project. There is no one better!
