Glen is one of the most talented architects in Princeton, which is a town with many many architects. Glen has experience with many large and small projects in town, yet has also worked with many clients around the county, including New York City. This gives him a broad prospective of design and experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for a job. He's one the most creative and inspired architects that I have run across in my career as a real estate agent.

I have worked with Glen Fries Associates on Martha's Vineyard for over 20 years building many homes and additions. They are easy to work with and have amazing ideas and style. They are always looking for the clients best interest. Highly recommended !!!

Twenty years ago Glen designed and supervised a complete renovation of the hundred year old house I'd just purchased. Since then, he has helped me with additional improvements and repairs to it. This summer he found a way to keep water out of a basement room that had been prone to flooding and helped with the decision-making about replacing a rotten porch. For both projects he was familiar with the newest products available and which ones were suitable for old houses. Both projects turned out very well, which makes me very happy. Glen was very thoughtful about who should do the work - it's not often that architects are willing to work with contractors whose work they don't know well.

Glen Fries Associates designed and supervised the construction of our home. Beautiful design, great flow, very nice selection of materials - brilliant work. Glen was also very effective at working with the construction contractor and the board of architectural review.

*The first project that Glen Fries Associates designed for me, was a 2500 square foot addition for an existing 1770 stone farm house. The plans were special, exact, beautiful and will last for centuries. *The second project was a pretty room off the kitchen, which was perfectly planned, however it was not moved forward by me; perhaps some day. *The third project, which was completed in January 2016, is another addition; a fabulous four season sunroom (approximately 23 x 18) with warmth, light and it radiates a wonderful composure. Yet, it is crisp and generously scaled. It certainly compliments the first addition to the original stone farm house. Glen Fries Associates anticipate design needs, understand aesthetics, maximize alternatives and develop strategic and timeless architectural plans. Glen listens to my ideas and the scope of my project. He then incorporates, expands and improves them in to a stellar structure that sustains time. Glen Fries Associates professional excellence is consistent, dependable and accurate in carrying out responsibilities to a successful and custom conclusion. Their professional expertise is communicated by conscientious, coordinated, comprehensive and creative architectural designs. Glen designed an addition to my house and planned all the renovations it needed. He worked with the contractors and helped me choose appliances for the kitchen, lighting throughout the house, bathroom fixtures, etc. He was very easy to work with, he respected the opinions of others involved in the project, and he often came up with solutions to construction problems that were clearly the best way to handle them. His ideas were innovative yet blended very well with my 1890's house. For example, he recommended using a greenhouse style roof for part of my kitchen in the addition. Nearly 20 years later, it still looks good and works well. In addition, he helped me design my prize-winning garden and choose much of the plant material. I am very pleased with the work he did and go back to him whenever needed.

I am a contractor in the Princeton area; a very discriminating market. I've worked with Glen Fries Associates for over 25 years on residential projects of all types. The jobs have varied in scale from 10k to 4 million. Glen is always my first choice to work with. No one else has their design and creativity qualities and the drawings they produce are second to none. Glen Fries Associates are the best I've seen at developing and sticking to realistic, build able budgets. The BEST.

Glen Fries helped me turn a quasi Medieval suburban 3 bedroom house into a breathtaking, clever, cool, bright, practical 4 bedroom house that loves to entertain 100 guests as well as shelter and surround one resident. Glen brought creative and unusual solutions to a 50 year old stone and stucco home located in a great location that was in need of updating and contemporizing. We completely gutted the interior of the space replacing every window, door, roof and (almost every) floor. We added a bedroom, removed an entire level and relocated both the kitchen (from the front of the house to the back) and the only staircase (from a dark, stone surrounded tower to a bright front hall). Our 9 month project went smoothly; Glen was the consummate professional as well as diplomatic negotiator when need be. We worked together making important design decisions and I never felt that architectural choices were being forced upon me. My opinions were always listened to and given preference. Glen brought novel ideas to the project that continue to be huge design statements in the house. For instance, a broad swath of arched 2nd story wall space is now punctuated by a 3' round window that captures the very early morning sun and throws the sunbeam on the stone wall of the kitchen for a few precious moments just after dawn. This light is extremely cool and I can't imagine who else would have ever thought of such a detail. I have and will continue to recommend Glen Fries associates when asked for my opinion. No project is too small nor too large.
