Good Architecture has done two extensive home renovations for us. Wayne Good is an exceptional architect, bringing ideas to the table that are up to date and state of the art as far as modern family living, yet he never compromises the integrity of the architectural style of the house or project. Unlike many architects who have a specific style they are best at, Wayne is excellent at all styles. His commitment to excellence and perfection allows him to never miss the small details and he researches everything completely. Both of our homes were complete renovations and one was a historic project requiring tremendous amounts of submissions and permitting. He was always prepared with outstanding drawings and presentation materials and brought a sense of professionalism and charm to every hearing. Ultimately, both of our projects have been published in several leading magazines and Wayne and his team are even better than his name of Good Architecture implies. I would highly recommend Wayne Good and Good Architecture for all new build designs or any renovation project, and would use him again in an instant myself.

Good Architecture is simply the best! Wayne had the knowledge and ability to create a timeless design for us that was both beautiful and functional. He is a good listener, which produced a design that was a reflection of our personalities. Since Wayne and his staff have a thorough knowledge of construction, their drawings are accurate.

Wayne Good and his team transformed our weekend home in Southern Maryland from acceptable to spectacular. I have no fear that this is overstating the case. Ten years have passed since the major redesign and rebuilding of our home (triggered by the path of destruction called Hurricane Isabel) and we are still thrilled and we are still being approached by people wanting to know exactly who our architect might have been. Wayne's design of our house won several industry awards and was featured in three magazines--and with good reason! Our house remains a modest cottage really and the renovation was not that costly, but the design and comfort of it really is outstanding. Good Architecture is just exceptional.

We hired Wayne Good and Good Architecture for a major renovation of our home, located on the water on the South River. Our home had been a small summer cottage, renovated multiple times over the years and in need of an update. Our principle interests were expanding the space, adding a room, upgrading the kitchen, and updating all the services such as heating/cooling, electrical and plumbing. We selected Wayne for his incredibly breadth of design talents, ranging from very large, high end homes to distinct, cottage-scale projects such as ours. Wayne was able to produce a design for our renovation that was dramatic and appealing to the eye, and very much updating the old home but at the same time preserving the cottage feel of the original house and many of its older, distinct and even funky attributes that really gave it its character. Additionally, we were able to work with Wayne and his team to do a fully Green home, including geothermal heating/cooling, super-insulated and sealed walls, floors and roof, energy efficient windows and doors, and many recycled materials re-used in construction. We are happy to discuss this project and share photos of Wayne's work to any interested party. We have recommended Wayne and Good Architecture to a number of friends and will continue to do so. In our view he is the most versatile and competent architect in this region.

I believe that when building a new home it is important to hire an architect. He/she is your advocate; the buildier constructs the architect's plan, which if he has done his work correctly is your dream home. Initially, Wayne solicits a tremendous amount of information about life style, what gives you peace and pleasure, do you prefer simple or fancy architecture, how important is your natural surrounding and do you want outside space incorporated into the home. And he listens. Then designs several options (usually) letting the client see all architectureal possibilities. Our small lot restricted Wayne to only one option, the perfect one. He worked with the builder seamlessly (they had worked together before) and the home is absolutely exactly what was envisioned. A piece of advice: let the architect do the job you are paying him to do. Don't fiddle with his details. He sees in his head the entire plan and moving a closet, window or door can change the entire flow of the home. Trust that you have selected the right architect for you (I interviewed several) and let them create. I could not be more pleased with the result!
