Mrs. Thorsen Joseph from Great Seal is an excellent architect, an open listener, and was full of aesthetically pleasing suggestions for our new addition. She was a pleasure to work with from beginning to the end of this large project. The 30 ft by 22 ft room is magnificent. I have had nothing but the highest compliments from all who have seen it during the pandemic. We are very happy that we chose Great Seal.

Great Seal was a pleasure to work with. The principal really understood our vision, and did a great job helping us check off our want list without going over budget. Lyndl also had fantastic suggestions for details we overlooked-suggestions that really helped elevate the overall renovation. Plans and revisions were always delivered on time, and more often than not, were delivered earlier than promised. Our neighbor highly recommended Great Seal, and we definitely highly recommend as well!

I worked with Great Seal Design on 2 separate additions. The first, removing the attic/roof and "building up" to create a master suite with a tray ceiling, sitting area, walk in closet and full bath. The second was a large addition off the back of the house to create a family & entertaining space. The existing kitchen and dining room were combined to create a large kitchen with a sizable island overlooking a family room with a cathedral ceiling and then a dining room off to the side. The original home was a split level and family life felt very disjointed. We seemed to only be on the same level of the house for meals. The new additions completely changed our family dynamics and our ability to host larger gatherings. Working with Lyndl leaves little to be desired. The most remarkable aspect of working with her is that on both projects we chose her initial design with little to no changes. Our most recent addition was completed in 2013 and after living in it for two years now, I still would not change a thing. I cannot say enough good things about Great Seal. She is so easy to work with and obviously was able to figure out exactly what we needed and liked. She was always accessible, completed the designs in a timely manner and worked well with our contractor. Thank you Lyndl for these amazing designs.

Lyndl of Great Seal provided architectural services for my whole house renovation project. Lyndl has been a fantastic source of information and ideas throughout this project. From the first phone call, before I'd even decided to go with her firm, she was incredibly generous with her time, talking over the project, including answering questions on permitting, construction, and final design. She is enthusiastic, upbeat, patient, and generally easy to work with. Her prices were very reasonable, and she was always upfront with costs and fees, with suggestions on how to save on both her fees as well as thinking ahead to the project, and how to save on the construction costs and permit fees. I'm glad I found her, and that she's in my corner on this project.

Lyndl Joseph of Great Seal LLC was recommended to us by our builder when we embarked on a renovation project for our home. We had to knock down walls, enlarge rooms, shift the kitchen location, and add bathrooms. Given the scale of our project we required an architect to draw up plans and ensure that our renovation goals were structurally sound. Lyndl did a superb job of coming up with a new design plan. She was very accessible (responded to emails and calls in a timely manner) and was on top of our project from beginning to end. Lyndl was such a pleasure to work with and I felt very confident throughout the renovation that we were in good hands. We are extremely happy with the result of our renovation. I cannot recommend Lyndl enough to future clients!

Because we were uncertain as to the final design of the garage that we wanted to add on to the existing structure, the architect provided several sketches for us to consider as possible options. When we finally decided on the preferred design, she worked with us to help us accomplish all of our goals by extending the existing carport forward to match the opposite side of the house (frontal view) enabling me to set up a workshop in the rear of the garage. Because we wanted to include added storage space above the garage/workshop, she worked with the general contractor whom she recommended (after several failed attempts by me to come up with a reputable contractor with a reasonable contract offer) to maximize the space above with a unique truss structure while also allowing for the wider garage door opening. All of this effort was completed while staying within the Fairfax County building codes and zoning requirements. We are absolutely thrilled with the resulting structure.

Lyndl T. Joseph owner of Great Seal was an inspiration and great aid after we bought our house in 2005. Lyndl prepared me for an expansion and gave us the support we needed to get our basement addition completed successfully. She was aware of our budget and gave us the necessary tools to undertake a DIY project. Thanks Lyndl, we continue to tell people of your thoughtful and inspirational support.

After approaching several well recognized firms for design ideas and architectural skills I chose Great Seal for my multi-floor addition and found their work to be excellent. Detail oriented, easy to work with, extremely sensitive to the clients needs and wants, with a great understanding of the construction process in our area which is challenging of it's own accord. They began on time, had all plans prepared on time, were within budget, showed great flexibility and creativity during the build and followed up after the project to ensure that everything had been done to the agreed detail. Can recommend them easily.

I had hired Great Seal LLC to design my sun room about 5 years ago. Lyndl had done an excellent job designing the sun room and adding such a great value and looks to the house. Not to mention the use of the sun room.... Three years later I wanted to raise the roof and add couple rooms to my bad room area (office area and walk in closet for his/her). Once again she did an excellent job. She even went to HOA to prove that by changing the house looks will add lot more value to the community. HOA agreed....and house looks beautiful.

Our experience working with Great Seal has always been great. Our most recent project had a 45 days deadline from homeowners to design & renovate home. Great Seal completed the design in 2 days and on the third day we were able to apply for the permits. Some of our past projects have included construction of new homes, additions, kitchens, basements, bathrooms and more.
