At the risk of sounding blasphemous, Dave is a modern-day Frank Lloyd Wright. At quick glimpse at his work will prove it. We had an idea for a mid-century style house, sketched on a piece of scratch paper. I emailed it to 6 different architects, and Dave responded within 30 minutes with something to the effect of, "This is the style I'm passionate about and I'd love to help design your home!" His passion for his work and specifically, mid-century design, was obvious and he did not let us down. It wasn't just another "job" in his queue; he took the vision of "Native Ridge" from our heads and brought it to life as if it were his own house. I truly can't say enough good things about Dave's talent and passion, and would recommend him to anyone.

David is a very down to earth individual that is easy to work with. He knows what he’s doing and has unique ideas how to build a dream home better than you imagined possible.

Dave and his team were phenomenal to work with in designing our beautiful new home. Throughout the design process he was attentive and communicative. He incorporated everything in our must-have list AND our nice-to-have list, and the result is a stunning custom home perfect for our lives!

My wife and I were seeking an architect that shared our dream of adding a deck and pergola that would transform and expand the living space in our home by incorporating nature and the the beauty of of the tree canopy surrounding our somewhat contemporary home while protecting our privacy and shade from the late afternoon sun. Dave nailed the design! This project was executed beautifully even though it took almost two years to complete due to COVID. We plan on using Dave to assist us in remodeling our 1980’s home in the near future and recommend him highly.

We waited 18 years to create the remodel of our dreams in our 1971 home. We loved Dave’s vision! We began with basic ideas, and Dave brought expertise, design, and collaboration to the project. Dave Herron is one extremely talented architect with an incredible attention to detail. We hired herron + partners to create the architectural drawings for our 7,000 square foot, non-traditional all metal home, artist studio, gallery, flex/event space on 40 acres in the Kansas countryside. Dave was limited by our budget but that did not keep him from designing our dream, ensuring the structural design, clean contemporary angles, floorplan/flow, exterior cladding, large openings to the outdoors and overall aestethics. Everything was resourceful, effecient and beautifully thought out. We have been enjoying our unique home for 3 years now! The memories we have of the design and build process with Dave's help are priceless to us. He was there every step of the way, allowing us our own artistic vision but guiding it and improving it along the way to make sure we ended up with the space of our dreams. And indeed that is what happened, it is our "Retreat", the place we are so comfortable in that easily adapts to all types of gatherings and events. This special space will be loved and enjoyed by so many for generations to come! Dave has been amazing to work with since day one. We own operate Physical Therapy clinics spread throughout the KC Metro. Dave has helped us design 4 of our new locations, a beautiful ground up project and currently a large renovation. He has gone above and beyond to create our dream clinics and has a feel for what we need and are looking for. We hired Dave to design our home in Eagle, Colorado. We wanted a fresh and unique modern interpretation of the subdivision’s design guidelines which were based on traditional precedent. He knocked it out of the park! What we appreciated about Dave the most is that he approaches the design process as a collaborative effort. I started using David in 2015 on an apartment complex in Warrensburg. We work together to on this project so well. We started using him for all our designs and planning. The last project we put together was a more modern style house in a neighborhood with restrictions. We work through the entire project together before we started. He was great to work with and look forward to working with him on the next project.

From the beginning to the end... extremely professional and creative. We bid our custom home to three different contractors and all remarked, independent of the others, that they were the most detailed and accurate home plans they had ever seen. If you are building a custom home... this is your guy!

We hired Dave Herron to help us develop plans for 2 Passive Houses. The project was significantly challenging not only due to being Passive, but also site conditions. Both homes were set on extremely steep lots, which made the floor plans difficult to design and keep costs under control. Dave was able to deliver on both! The icing on the cake is they turned out beautiful and our clients love them. We look forward to the next project together!

After researching and reviewing other architects, we were lucky to find David . We wanted to avoid the cookie-cutter designs we often see and have something truly distinctive designed for us from the ground up: a real custom contemporary home! David was fun to work with and easy-going while also paying very close attention to detail. He was very knowledgeable about the various aspects of design, engineering, and construction phases – especially materials. The other thing that was extremely important to us was his proactive approach to keep costs from spiraling beyond our budget. After a few meetings with me and my wife, David came back with several designs and we discussed the characteristics of each approach. After we made a final decision on one of his designs, he nailed down the details and value-engineered it to minimize costs. Well before construction began, we worked out any kinks to eliminate surprises during the construction phase – this also saved money. David gave us far more than we expected for our project and we'd be thrilled to work with him again on our next build.

I recently added an addition to my home which included a laundry room, half bath and new kitchen. Dave was incredibly patient and helpful in bringing my vision into focus. He helped me to see the space in a way I hadn't thought of and brought his own ideas to the table. I would definitely use and highly recommend Dave for any future projects.

David and I have collaborated and worked on several projects together dating back to when we first started our company up to just recently. David is a very hands on architect and takes pride in making sure every detail is carefully designed throughout the project. He is especially great with modern and contemporary style homes where crucial elements within the house that normally get overlooked are very much highlighted. David also makes himself part of the team whenever we work together. When I have a project that requires a very highly skilled architect that knows how to build as well as design I call on David.
