We worked with Ideo Architects on our ice cream shop in The Woodlands, TX. Javier and David did a great job of listening to what we were looking to accomplish with a vintage ice cream scoop shop. It was the first time going through this process and they not only got our vision but guided us through the permit process. We are so happy with the outcome.

Javier and his team at Ideo Architects were an invaluable resource for me on my first commercial development project. My civil engineer could only help with the development permit but not the building permits. Ideo took the basic details from my metal building manufacturer and built out all the 3D drawings, including plumbing and electrical. They submitted all the detailed information required by Denton County to start the building permit process and pushed all the way to get it done as quickly as possible. I was impressed by their ability to coordinate with my contractors and engineers to pull it all together. I will definitely be using them on my future projects.

I have now worked with Javier and his team on two different projects (100 year old bungalow with single story addition and a 2 plus car garage with an apartment) in the Heights. Both experiences were very positive and appreciated that he heard and understood my vision. I will definitely work with him again on my next project and have recommended him to my friends.

Working with Ideo Architects on our home renovation in Royal Oaks, Houston, was a great experience. Javier, the principal architect, was fantastic throughout the project. We had a great experience with Javier and David! We worked together to design our custom home almost entirely via zoom, as we were living on the other side of the world while developing the architectural plans. Working with Javier has been an amazing experience. He has built houses for several of my family members, even within the last few years, and their houses are incredible. My wife and I are building our dream barndominium and I have no problem saying that it would be nowhere near how amazing it is now if it weren't for Javier. As an interior designer bringing Origin in to the project, I appreciated how Javier worked with my vision and offered solutions and point of view. When we first met Javier, we immediately began exchanging ideas, and he knew exactly what we wanted for our contemporary courtyard home. We were looking for an architect to design our home and create one that was different from all the look-a-like homes you see in the Houston area. We also wanted a timber frame design, which was a further complication. It required close cooperation between the architect and the timber frame designer to insure that the requirements of the timber frame would be accommodated within the architectural plans. We ended up selecting Javier with Origin Architects because of his work at Main Street America. His designs demonstrated to us that he was versed in all styles of home styles and was capable of thinking outside the typical Houston box. We were not disappointed and have a design we feel is unique. Javier was able to translate our concepts into a design that works well with the timber frame. He was not afraid to challenge us when we asked for things that were not practical or that did not work. He was very cooperative, listened to our needs and wants and worked very well with our timber frame builder. We highly recommend Javier and Origin Architects to anyone thinking of building a new home.

We met Javier by a fortunate coincidence when we were just starting demolition in our property and quickly engaged him in our plans. Javier helped us develop our idea from pretty much the lot plan to a final product and we always had design plans budgets and documents on time and ready for city inspections and approvals. Javier @ Origin Architects, did a remarkable job! He was able to take all of our ideas and incorporate them into a fabulous masterpiece and even added a few special touches!! He was really great about coming on-site during construction to make sure everyone was completing the job per the plans! He made the design phase very simple and quick. If we wanted any changes made, he was pretty quick in returning to us with our options and designs. He would also let us know if something was not going to work. Pricing seems to be in the middle of most of the competitions but the experience and quality of work is top notch! Already working with him again on our next project!

We came to Origin Architects (OA) with a dozen 1/4"-ruled pages taped together, the final version of many we had worked upon for the last seven years. I think OA was surprised, but more importantly, OA was enthused by the challenge. We worked very closely with Javier Medina over the next several weeks to translate the scaled pencil sketches of our dream home into bonafide architectural renderings. Javier helped us iron out some the rough areas of our drawings (we have no construction experience, some of which is nice to have in designing the house) and offered his own ideas, many of which we included. He challenged us on some of our ideas because 1) the ideas were outside the norm, and 2) he had a forward concern about the value of the house being preserved. It was a good exchange since we had to articulate and defend our reasoning and he wanted to be sure we understood that for which we were asking. We moved forward with Javier to complete the plans and build the house. Because we had such a rich and fearless dialogue with OA in the bringing of our plans to reality, we had no major scope changes and the house was built slightly under budget. Origin architects is an amazing architecture firm, focusing on detail and creativity that makes every project unique! As an interior designer I loved the amount of detail that went into this home. Not only the interiors but exteriors as well. Also the fact that they take "the views" heavily in consideration masked all the difference. The luxury home has beautiful golf course views from nearly every room / window in the home. The outcome was georgeous and the homeowners couldn't have been happier!
