Been wanting to work with James for a long time and finally we did a home of his up at Pine Canyon in Flagstaff Az. The owners Patty and Charlie Horn did a amazing job decorating and adding their unique touches to the cabin. James and I spent two days photographing the property in the late evening and early morning to capture all the right looks of this beautiful home. James was really a pleasure to work with and very helpful in achieving all the shots we got. The home like all his other projects was a true original and designed with the owners vision and ideas in mind and his expertise in seeing it to completion. He is one of the few architects in the valley who can skillfully create houses of diverse design style with a unique twist for each client, that differentiates from the norm. Jim actually designed two homes for us, and both were completely different styles. One a Tuscan Villa (completed Nov. 2009) and the other a Reclaimed Log Home (completed July 2014). While Jim has lots of creative design ideas, he does not let his "ego" get in the way when you have your own vision as well. He always says, "The bottom line is, it's YOUR house, not mine." He's very agreeable to incorporating your ideas into the final design. We knew what we wanted the outcome to be with both our homes and Jim was very valuable in helping us lay it all out based on our desires, likes and needs. If you have no vision or idea what you want, he's got lots of ideas for you and is capable of designing ANY style home. He is always very professional, has years of architectural knowledge, and is easy to work with. We have seen several of the homes he has designed and each is unique and different. He doesn't create the "same old designs" repeatedly with only minor differences. We know many other architects whose homes are so recognizable and predictable, but you will not find that to be true of him. He also works well with builders, as a team. It was a pleasure working with him on both houses and we would highly recommend him.

Jim Hann is an incredible architect who is extremely talented and very respectful of his clients' priorities. We bought a lot in Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1997, which had spectacular views but presented a challenge to build. Jim designed a masterpiece that continues to appear in home and design publications and has passed the test of time. We retained Jim again in 2013 to design a very modern home - and he has created yet another spectacular design. Beyond his unparalleled creativity as an architect, Jim is knowledgeable about required guidelines, is sensitive to budgets, and works very well with a large team. In the end, what sets Jim apart is his ability to design an incredible home around the practical realities of how we want to enjoy our home day to day.
