John was an excellent designer to work with on a home remodel and addition. He was patient and attentive to the intricate details my wife and I envisioned for the project. His communication is excellent. He was also flexible and helpful when it came to building requirements and permitting. For example, our project permit application was approved with a straight concrete driveway connecting the street to our new garage. After construction we decided to explore the possibility of a paver circular driveway design. A change at that point in the project was not simple. The permit revision request required a property survey review for new drawings and impervious surface calculations. John worked through the situation quickly and seamlessly, even connecting with city officials to make sure the new driveway details were acceptable, ensuring there was no hold up. We would highly recommend John for any scale of project from building to renovation.

John went above and beyond to come up with options for materials etc. He became a friend as well as our architect design provider.

John provided the professional detail plans we need for our home addition and the required permits making this a smooth part of the process. He checked in weekly to assure a smooth connection between the design aspect and the contractors. John helped keep us in proper prespective of timelines as the project progressed, which in itself was a big help. We appreciate John and highly recommend him for any project.

We hired John to advise and represent us in an ongoing remodel of a high end 1700sf unit in Saint Petersburg (cost was over $150K). John proved invaluable in our project. We recommend him without reservations. Great common sense, experience, willingness to go the extra mile, tact, and easy to communicate with. About the project... this was a challenging situation: The ultimate customer was my father-in-law. He lives in Brazil, visits about once a month, and is not the easiest person to deal with. We were paying for the remodel, living in CT and visiting about once a month. We are detail oriented and hands on. But distant and busy. Both the contractor and John had to deal with disagreements between us and our father-in-law. We are not easy! We fired the prior contractor who did very little work over 9 months. And then had to deal with his pettiness/interference in the job. John helped us interview new contractors. The new contractor was competent but not proactive or a good communicator. Dealing with the building had its challenges. Lots of snags: We lost our kitchen order because of delays of 9 months. Had to start from scratch with a different supplier. The flooring done by the first contractor had to be redone because of poor workmanship (John confirmed that he would redo it if it was his house, and backed his judgement with lots of pictures). John dealt with it all with extreme patience and professional competence. The project proved to be a lot more time consuming than John's quote (fixed $ per month). John never asked for more money. We had to push him to make sure he was being paid for his time.

We worked with John to do a face lift on our house in the Old Northeast community in St. Petersburg. Our house is not one of the charming bungalows, but was an old (1920s) boarding house. It was plain and uninteresting and looked top heavy. John came up with three plans for us to choose from. The end result is better than we had anticipated. The elements John chose for the front of our house- new railing, redesigned columns and architectural siding (for interest) created a facade that is balanced and beautiful. The color family he suggested pops. Our house is now beautiful, interesting and balanced.

John designed a brand new look for our Old Northeast home from an ordinary front door entrance and walkway to a very inviting large front porch that we so enjoy. Incredible transformation from a short stoop entry into the front door to a great gathering space. We are in a neighborhood with lots of terrific front porches, and we are so glad to have one! John's attention to design detail and suggestions was on target. We are so grateful to him and his expertise. Great to work with John and I would highly recommend him for your home renovation designs.

We used John to conceive, design and manage a total gut rehab of a garage apartment in St. Petersburg. His expertise and talents go far beyond just drawing up plans. He really made this space functional, inviting and a fun place to spend time for our friends and family, as well as enhancing its income generating potential as a rental unit. I have done several remodeling and addition projects on our residences over the years, but none went more smoothly and produced results I am as happy with as the project on which John worked. His personality is warm, friendly and easy to work with. He is a great listener and was able to translate our wants, needs and desires into reality.
