John M Reimnitz and his team designed and oversaw construction at our home. Our main objective was that any new construction or renovation had to be constructed as if it was originally built when our home was built in 1928. John and his team mastered this. He is very thorough and worked with us as well as the contractor. He took care of every little detail. John was always readily available for our several discussions and "layman" input. Through the years (over 10 all together) I have used John Reimnitz Architect to do 2 major renovations in my home- a kitchen and a master bathroom and to consult on another bathroom remodel. I have also referred John to various friends for their home renovations including a full house redo. In all cases I was thrilled with the results. John has a wonderful fresh approach to viewing existing space and seeing its potential in new and exciting ways! His designs always take into account the client's needs and wishes. Being a professional chef, function was critical to my kitchen design. John was able to incorporate this need into a refreshing approach that was as aesthetically pleasing as it was functional. We selected John to help update our 100 year old English Craftsman home. We selected John because of his clearly vast experience with historic homes. From his portfolio, his work displayed a respect for the historic architecture, yet his ability to update these structures for modern living. His solutions were insightful, practical and beautiful. He worked with us closely throughout the project through weekly meetings and helped us to communicate our wishes to the contractor. We hope to hire him again for future projects.

We had the pleasure of working with John Reimnitz on our recent home renovation and are totally thrilled with the results. We were downsizing and found a lovely old Chalet-style Tudor. The house was charming but in need of some TLC. We really wanted to maximize our space and open things up creating a more modern flow but maintain the character of the older home. John was meticulous in his attention to every detail. He worked hard to keep the contractors on schedule and made sure that the proper materials were used and that no corners were cut. As per usual with an older home, there were bumps and snags along the way and a few unexpected hurdles but John kept us in the loop and calm throughout. In addition, as we came to the end of the project and were exhausted from all of the decision making over the last few months, John’s wife, Hillary, came to help us with the paint color choices. I had some ideas but no confidence in them. She helped me zero in on a color palette that made sense with my furniture and also the light and flow of the house. Our new home is exactly as we pictured it and we couldn’t be happier!

John Reimnitz did a brilliant job bringing our diamond in the rough into the current century. At all stages of the job (a 12 month project involving the total overhaul of 6 rooms including the kitchen and several bathrooms, the removal of walls and staircases, and the upgrading of all the major systems) John was a creative, well-organized, tireless force of renovation and problem solving. We could not be more pleased with the transformation of our fixer upper, and we highly recommend John Reimnitz for his skill, creativity and dedication.

After interviewing more than ten architects, I immediately hired John Reimnitz for the renovation of our 1890s home. He was extremely professional and his portfolio was impressive. We have since used John's firm for two other projects. During the projects, he held weekly meetings with my construction manager to make sure everything was moving forward on schedule. Whenever my manager ran into a problem with construction, John was available immediately and would drop everything to get on-site so that construction wasn't halted. His approach to problems was methodical and well thought out. For example, I wanted to turn the existing master bedroom into a room for my two young daughters, but there was not a wall that was wide enough for two twin beds. John immediately came up with a creative solution...he extended the wall and created an archway over the windows, window seats with drawers for storage, and book shelves on either side of the windows. I have recommended John to friends and relatives and everyone who uses his firm is impressed and happy with their results. I would not even think of using a different architect for any future projects!

I hired John Reimnitz Architect PC to do a major kitchen/powder room renovation/addition in my 1903 Craftsman style home. Of utmost importance, was that the existing character of my home be respected. In other words, I wanted to make sure that any new work looked like it was in keeping with the character and style of my existing home. My goal was to have a larger, more functional, updated kitchen, a relocated powder room and a generally easier flow to the downstairs of the house. John Reimnitz helped me achieve exactly what I wanted. John"s keen knowledge, attention to detail, creativity and willingness to work cooperatively with both myself and the contractor made the entire process an exciting and a relatively conflict-free experience. From the very beginning, John listened to me and was able to understand how I lived, what I was hoping to achieve and how to make that happen within my budget. He presented several plans and was able to help me understand the pros and cons of each. He sat with me and the several contractors I was considering to do the work, going over the finalized plan to assure we were aware of all expectations ahead of time. This process helped me select the most appropriate contractor for my job. John conducted weekly on site meetings with both myself and the project manager. These meetings assured that any problems that arose were dealt with immediately and guaranteed the work was being completed according to John's specifications. As this was the first major architectural project I've ever done, working with such a professional, patient and collaborative person like John made all the difference in the world. Not only do I love the finished product, but I can honestly say, John helped make the entire process a wonderful experience. I would recommend John Reimnitz Architecture without reservation.
