John was responsive, kind and proactive in his consultation and communication. I talked to several other contractors about a job we were considering and John, more than others, understood the scope and circumstances, made helpful and money saving suggestions, didn't pressure or upsale, and gave me the overall impression that I was in good hands. He did much to alleviate the anxiety that goes with such situations and I would be confident recommending him to any of my friends and family. In fact, I hope to work with JSBA on projects in the future!

John has been an absolute joy and wonder to work with. From the very first stage of exploration of ideas to the very end of construction. John is always available to help work through any obstacles that arise throughout the entire project. From the beginning, explaining how the process works, making the most beautiful blue prints, taking care of the interfacing with all the permits with city requirements and officials. During the difficult time of covid-19, when city officials were not available to meet with face to face and the permitting process was extremely difficult, John made it all work. John cares about his clients, he works to make sure that all of their concerns and questions are taken care of. We, our family, couldn't have navigated the difficult journey without the extreme professional work that John provided!

I hired JSBA 18 months ago for an onsite consultation. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I used this consultation to fix up my plans for an $80,000 renovation to my downtown SLC condo, which included updated kitchen and bath, a floorplan change, new 1/2 bath, new furnace and windows. I learned a lot during this consultation including design problems that would get me into trouble and a more realistic budget. The renovation happened last winter (2018-2019) I'm very happy with the results and the advice I got from JSBA.
