K-ARC

Kyle Cowper of K-ARC was the architect, and so much more, for our home extension in 2023, the Craigleith Orangery one in the Projects list. Not only are we still totally in love with the results, he made the whole process straightforward and low-key. He listened to our brief, took everything into account, and then improved upon it, with his eye for detail, aesthetic and practicality. Kyle engaged professionally with our builders, representing our needs and wishes, pushing back on any problems or challenges in a calm, positive and focused manner. This was our first major project and he guided us through it with ease. It all came in on time, within budget and beyond expectations. We’d have no hesitation in recommending Kyle for all types of extension, renovation and architectural design work.

We viewed our current property and were immediately drawn to it although it was not perfect and was a room too small. Our son introduced us to Kyle Cowper of K-Arc and Kyle immediately assured us that there was every likelihood of being granted planning permission to extend the property sympathetically. We bought the property and once again turned to Kyle for help and advice as to how we could adapt and extend our new home. Kyle quickly understood exactly what we trying to do and improved upon our vision! Before we could start, costs rose substantially due to Covid. Once again Kyle came to the rescue in revising the plans to help reduce the costs but still allowing us to achieve everything we wanted. We have never felt that we compromised on our vision which is down to Kyle’s skill as an architect. He involved us every step of the way, listening to our thoughts and interpreting them perfectly. Regular site meetings kept us informed of progress. Kyle was totally professional, patient and polite and we would and have recommended him to friends.

As a client, working with Kyle on the design of a substantial renovation project proved to be educational, rewarding and immensely enjoyable as he not only met, but exceeded my design expecations - it was as if he resided in my head and and could commit to paper what I could only imagine and only poorly express. Kyle is not only a gifted professional, but an exceptionally client-centered architect.
