K Henry Design

This was the first project Kathy and I have worked on together and it came at a time when all sorts of code changes were being implemented by the City of Vancouver. Kathy produced a really great set of plans originally and was always on hand and helpful in negotiating our way through all the new code items. The completed house looks fabulous and the space is welcoming, functional, open and sophisticated. Great Job!

Kathy is excellent. She is really easy to work with, very knowledgable with the rules / codes as it relates to dealing with The City (which is always tricky), extremely professional in her drawings and interactions with us (the client) and our trades (builders, etc). We are undertaking a substantial renovation, which is more complicated than a new build based on the scope of the project, and I've been really happy with our experience so far. We wanted to go with qualified and professional people, but also support entrepreneurs who came highly regarded, and she has not disappointed us. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kathy. She has been very flexible with our schedules and demands, and hey...we're still on great terms one year after we hired her...I'm not sure many clients say that about their designers or builders ;) . She was great helping advance our permits with the City of Vancouver, she works well with others (our interior designer and builder), and just genuinely a really good person. Our reno was pretty unique. A 105-year old house, over 5,500 feet, which includes a complete gut job to the studs, a lifting of the house, a new foundation, and a modern farm-house style that will be timeless and stunning. Kathy shared our vision and I would hire her again if we had another project, but this is our family home...not a flip! Given it was our family home and permanent residence, we were even more selective about who to engage on this project. Kathy is awesome.

My wife and I were looking for a home designer who could custom design our new home. We were referred to Kathy by our builder and was highly recommended by them as she was someone they had worked with on numerous projects in the past. We felt it was really important that the designer and builder we chose worked really well together as that would mean time and money saved. So after meeting with her (loved her from the first meeting) and looking over her portfolio, we felt she would be a great match with the rest of our team to bring our dream home to reality! She collected our thoughts and ideas around both how we wanted the house to look aesthetically, as well as how we wanted to live in the house functionally and we came up with a design that worked absolutely perfect for us. Her revisions were always timely, and her support with dealing with the City of Vancouver for permitting was invaluable. I would highly recommend Kathy to any friends and family. In fact, I did recommended her to my parents and she ended up helping them create an awesome design for their major renovation. Thanks Kathy! You rock!

I hired Kathy to do a house renovation inside as well, changing the exterior of the house. I had never done a renovation before and was definitely out of my comfort zone. Kathy was very patient and guided me through the process and designed the home that I now love.

Alex and Kathy have designed a number of custom homes for us and our clients. They have an efficient process and can draw on their experience with several successful projects in Vancouver when creating a new design and getting us ready to submit to the city. We particularly like their pragmatic approach with the planning department to ensure we are getting through the permit process in a timely fashion and achieving the space and design we have developed with them.

We can't thank Kathy enough for her hard work in our new home design. Our home now has attractive curb appearance, and has the floor plan that is very functional and practical. Working with Kathy was very smooth. Kathy has taken the time to listen to us about our wants and preferences, and has revised the design many times based on our feedbacks. Because of our busy schedules with work and family, we couldn't attend many in-person meetings that's typical of home design and construction. Despite of our "unavailability", Kathy has been very flexible and has adapted to our schedules by communicating to us via email, which is our preferred way of communication. Furthermore, Kathy is really approachable, especially when we have zero prior experience in new home construction. Kathy would take time to ensure that we understood the process, and also follow up with whatever questions that we had. The end result is that we now have a home that is very beautiful with "wow" factor. We always have a big smile when showcasing our home to family and friends, as everyone admires the quality and the functional layout of the final product. One of the smartest thing that we did with the new home construction was to have the experts like Kathy from Henry + Glegg Design to take care of the home design rather than trying to do it ourselves. Will we go with Henry + Glegg Design again? Absolutely without any hesitation!!!

As a Vancouver Interior Designer, I have had opportunity to work on homes with architecture by Henry + Glegg Design and have found them to be professional and very personable to work with. I appreciate their prompt and helpful responses to any communication. Most of all, they are unfailingly enthusiastic about their projects and it's clear they truly care about making unique homes for their individual clients.
