Kanan was wonderful in helping me navigate my kitchen renovations. She was great with design concepts and suggestions on how best to design a small kitchen space. Kanan then helped selecting all needed items (countertops, cabinets, knobs and pulls and appliances)providing options for each, with great insight and respectful of my taste. Kanan helped narrow choices and navigate suppliers so that I did not get overwhelmed with endless choices. During the actual construction, she was onsite frequently, managing and ensuring the project proceed as planned, and was resourceful as the project evolved. This was particularly helpful given my very inflexible work schedule. Finally, Kanan has remained available and responsive to my post completion outreach for any follow up.

Kanan was the perfect end to end architect & designer - she managed interactions with the contractors and put together a clear floor plan for every room in the apartment. She had great suggestions on how best to utilize the space. we live in a pre-war apartment and she got the balance of preserving character of old NY living with modern sensibility perfectly. She is organized, attentive, remembers little things we said in passing and just took the mental load of renovating and decorating off. The most game changing suggestion she made was to add closets into the master bedroom - while we had closets, she pointed out how the space and layout were just not being well used - it seems so obvious in retrospect. Also, she is great with color and texture. We ended up having so much fun with wallpaper - my peacock blue accent wall in the study is stunning and makes for a happy place. All in all, from floors to ceiling beams to lighting to decor, she can handle it all and really well. We highly recommend her!

We highly recommend Kanan as a designer and value her skills and creativity she brought to our gut renovated 1 bedroom apartment in Manhattan. Gut renovations are super fun and also a lot of decisions, so having Kanan work with us and help us narrow down those many decisions really helped. It was the subtle design elements that really made the whole project and Kanan is very talented and has a lot of experience behind her. She was really easy to work with, she knew we were strapped for time due to our busy work schedule and tight deadline for a move in date, she created a contemporary, personalised , practical space and tailored her recommendations based on personalities. She provided excellent colour recomendations for our walls (6 different whites in each different room which really makes a lot of difference to the ambiance of each room), great options for our bathroom tiles (loved the grey wooden floor recommendation but practical as they are tiles),kitchen cabinet colours, kitchen cabinet layout, backspash tiles, ktichen cabinet storage, bathroom vanity design and lighting recommendations. She enhanced each room by recommendation of a feature wall in our bedroom, a textured wall in our living room, and a blackboard wall in our kitchen and a feature wooden breakfast bench which is stunning. She worked well with our contractor and helped us source various raw materials and drew the kitchen and bathroom drawings excellently so it was easy for our contractor to follow and also super practical. We are so happy we chose to work with a designer. Our apartment is so beautiful and homely and our guest always comment on what a great job we have done to our Manhattan apartment. It was so worth the investment of having a designer and Kanan is wonderful to work with. We highly recommend Kanan!

Kanan designed our home in NorthFork and it was just stunning. We worked with numerous designers previous Kanan is the only one who actually took our recommendations instead of her own. She went shopping with us, visited the home, made an organizational list of every single item and passed on her discounts. She is constantly available and her background and degree in architecture really enabled her to understand our home, which was to be for both living and short term rental. We didn’t really want to go crazy with colors but love a bright airy feel. She suggested we leave the walls white and do pops of color everywhere throughout. She found us amazing furniture at reasonable prices that we would never have been able to find on our own. She was constantly available and we now developed a friendship well beyond our professional relationship. Highly recommend.

Kananshree provided critical input into the interior design of my home. There was no construction required but the design was a blank slate when we began. She really worked with what my husband & I wanted -- a comfortable, modern home that reflected our global aesthetic. She was knowledgable in her expertise, I never once doubted her opinion or "eye". She adapted & accommodated our schedule, meeting evenings and weekends when necessary, working on the phone as well. She always had a positive attitude, was pleasant and warm. I recommend her highly and will ask her to work with us again in our next home too.

KaVa design was instrumental in helping us to realize the vision with our new home. We renovated a previously combined 3 apartments (two 1-BR and one studio). The architecture plans that successfully unified the space and detailed the specs was critical in achieving what we wanted while doing this within regulatory requirements. The eye for details by this team was exceptional--the perfect grille for the bathroom, the tile, the layout, the paint color use to emphasize a dramatic entrance, using wallpaper for two specific accent walls, the perfect molding sizes. We got rid of one bedroom to create a huge main area that look unified and cohesive. The studio as turned into a master bedroom suite. There was good communication between this team and the construction team. We are happy and grateful with the expertise of KaVa adn the significant impact they had on the end product.
