Katie Hutchison Studio
Inspired by the simplicity of New England vernacular buildings and landscapes, Katie Hutchison Studio composes and fosters meaningful architecture and design. Architect Katie Hutchison is a Rhode Island School of Design graduate who returned to her alma mater's state in 2012 to relish and share in its coastal community and architecture. Katie has 26 years experience moving residential projects through the permitting approval process and on to successful completion. Katie is also author of the best-selling The New Small House from The Taunton Press published October 20, 2015, and The New Cottage from The Taunton Press published December 4, 2018. Katie Hutchison Studio (KHS) projects have appeared in her books as well as in Cottage Living, Cape Cod and Islands Home, Fine Homebuilding, and Rhode Island Monthly magazines as well as in United by Design: Homes of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket, published by Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. KHS projects are typically selected from residential and creative design opportunities (in Rhode Island, the South Coast of Massachusetts, the North Shore of Boston, Cape Cod, and on Martha's Vineyard) which involve new construction, adaptive re-use, renovations, and/or additions. Katie also produces House Enthusiast, an online magazine http://www.katiehutchison.com/house-enthusiast/ and is a frequent contributor to Fine Homebuilding's "Drawing Board" column.
