When I was ready to build a house, I knew I wanted to work with an architect so the home could be exactly what I wanted. Given the desired size of the house (~1400 square feet) and modest budget I was afraid I’d be laughed out of the room. I was so pleased when Rob and Mike were actually excited to work on a project smaller in scope. They were thoughtful and observant at every meeting and really listened to everything I wanted, so much so that the first design they presented me with needed only very minor tweaks. They included some things I never would have thought to ask for and didn’t even know I wanted, but make the finished house even more lovely. I’ve been living in the completed house for a few weeks now and it’s so much more perfect for me than I had ever dared to dream.

We couldn't have asked for better design partners than Rob and Mike at KRA. From our initial meeting with Rob where he walked our building site and took the time to understand our wants/needs for our new home, to our review of the plans, to our follow-up meetings, both Rob and Mike consistently exceeded our expectations throughout the design process. Their ideas were wonderful, yet they were always willing to make sure they answered all of our questions and included our input in every phase of the process. Our new home is everything we could have hoped for and much of that is due to Rob and Mike's experience and attention to detail.

We presented Rob and Mike at KRA with a challenge to design the perfect coastal home within a limiting building area due to local setback regulations. They were consistently thoughtful and patient throughout the design process. They expertly guided us towards a final house design that we were very pleased with. We’re one month away from completion of the project and could not be happier with the result. The house is perfect inside and out.

This is our second project with The KRA Team. Rob and Mike have done a terrific job for us and working with them is a pleasure. They design houses that are both beautiful and functional. They listened to our input and were able to translate our needs and ideas into well thought out plans. Every detail was carefully considered. Not one person has entered either of our homes without being throughly impressed. Look no further, these guys are the real deal!

We are so thankful for the stunning home KRA designed for us. Our new home design was made exceptionally complicated by a very tight, irregular lot and stringent DEP regulations on top of our town's requirements. Yet Rob and Mike were not only able to create a beautiful home that met all of our needs (and our needs were many), they were able to successfully shepherd that design through a demanding and onerous permitting process with tight time constraints. Because of their creativity, effort and diligence we have the home we always wanted that perfectly meets the needs of our family. We are deeply appreciative of everything they did to make our dream home become a reality.

Our experiences with Rob and Mike at Kennebunk River Architects has been nothing but pleasant and professional. We did a major home renovation including demolition and a new second floor. The suggestions, initial drawings, respect for our wishes within the context and framework of friendly discussions were all fantastic. The work was done in a timely manner and Mike and Rob could be counted on to answer any questions promptly and fully. They had a real ability to anticipate what was needed throughout the project. Simply put, this is a great firm you should strongly consider using for your own project.

We selected KRA to lead the "gut" renovation of a home in Kennebunk Beach. We wanted the remodeling to respect it's history and feel while at the same time bringing it into the 21st Century. The work done by KRA in delivering this goal was world class. Starting with a basic vision of how the house needed to be "opened up" to all the unseen structural enhancements necessary to do that and a thousand other thoughtful things - KRA was masterful in their work. In addition, they have a deep, long-standing working relationship with our general contractor, interior designer and landscape architect. We realized half-way through the project KRA would meet with the rest of the team, unbeknownst to us, to plow through the infinite number of details that required everyone's cooperation. In the end, we got exactly what we wanted: the look and feel of the house despite nearly 90% of it being new construction. They met every deadline and budget. They were steady and wise throughout. We could not be more happy to have chosen them or more impressed with what they did.

Rob & Mike are exceptionally good to work with. We had a renovation project on a house that was originally built in the '20s - and not much had been done to it since. Not only did they design exactly what we asked for, they hooked us up with a fabulous contractor that hit the actual renovation work out of the park. While there are still a few loose ends to tie up, the house is beautiful and a thousand times more functional than it used to be. Can't recommend these guys enough. Would give more stars if I could.
