Knu Design really impressed us throughout the whole process of designing our front yard and driveway. Scott had some clever ideas to tackle the challenge of our steep slope while keeping our front yard looking amazing. He nailed exactly what we wanted and needed to meet our H.O.A.'s strict standards. We hired Knu Design to bring a fresh set of eyes to some of the challenges we encountered restoring our Victorian home. We were particularly happy with how he figured out a way to design a bathroom on our first floor that honored the historic legacy (and limitations) of the house, while also accommodating modern conveniences. Scott was also instrumental in creating a historic color palette for our home, which we had struggled with until working with Scott, as well as helping us choose interior and exterior doors that matched the original doors. Scott is very knowledgeable and easy to work with; we appreciated how he turned seemingly unsolvable problems into creative opportunities. His site visits are productive, thorough, and enjoyable, and we appreciated how quickly he responded to our follow-up questions. We would highly recommend Knu Design for any architecture and design needs.

We worked with Knu Design on a large scale home remodel - we moved walls, re-routed the stairs, and completely redid our kitchen plus two full bathrooms. Scott and his team were great to work with - we spent a long time working together on design and mockups, went through contractor bidding and permits, and then oversight of the project itself. We are thrilled with the outcome - our home looks great, it is practical, and the lighting and colors go so well together. Highly Recommend!

Knu Design, LLC, gave my family a very high level of professional performance. This includes the architectural design, a custom outdoor patio area with a large screened-in porch, including cedar beams and stone flooring, all smoothly connected to the existing house. The architect realized our vague dream into a beautiful and very functional new structure. We were also impressed with the smooth overall coordination of sub-projects executed by different crews: masons, carpenters, electricians, etc. Another important asset was the good level of communication -- we always felt in touch with the company and with the project. We got good timeline predictions and explanations of what was going on, etc. These values are rare in our experience. It may have something to do with size -- big enough to get all the work done efficiently, but small enough to care and to focus on our project.

Scott was incredibly helpful, he explained a lot to me and gave me advice even after he knew I was not going to use him as an architect, he still took the time to make sure I was on the right track and told me things to ask the architect I was using instead to make sure my project was done right. The only reason I did not go with him was because the architect I originally got a quote from was less expensive because I was tweaking a design they had already created, versus starting from scratch. Otherwise I would have chosen Scott. He is a good person, very helpful and seems like an incredibly knowledgeable architect. I would recommend him for sure.
