Kohlmark Flach completed a Design Build whole house renovation for us back in January of 2020. We had an excellent experience with the entire team from the early design to project close out. Tom Flach was able to decipher our vision into a wonderful living space that met all of our needs and wants. The construction team was efficient, professional, and timely. Tom Flach is the in-house design architect for Kohlmark Homes. We hired this contractor to build an accessory structure and decided to use Tom for the design. An Accessory structure is similar to an ADU or Granny flat. The only difference is in its use. It is a beautiful addition to our property in N. Arlington and gives us the flexibility we both need for remote work. It is just short of 1700 sq ft on 3 levels and has 2 full baths. Tom was very attentive and responsive to our needs. He designed it with us at our kitchen table. We got everything we wanted in what was a 560 Sq Ft. Footprint. A wall of southern-facing windows. 9" ceilings on 2 floors. 2 fireplaces, and beautiful finishes. Tom wrestled with the folks at Arlington County, plan review, etc, until the plans were eventually approved. That was no small feat and not everyone is prepared to take that on. We broke ground in March of 2020 the day they formally announced covid. The total project was completed by December of the same year. Tom never let us down and caught a few construction errors before they became a problem. Our builder was honorable and made things right. I would highly recommend Tom for any project you may be considering.
