I hired Mike to design a master suite add on for my Sugarhouse home and he was excellent!! His prices were reasonable, his professionalism, attention to detail and the turnaround for any modifications the city required to pull the permit was superb!! I enjoyed working with him and would recommend him to anyone.

I was really glad to have found Mike as our architect for our remodel because he was fairly priced and seemed very buttoned up. When we met him at the house he seemed very detailed and professional. He took a lot of pictures and measurements and went into a lot of details about the house. He estimated the cost of the project and the timing and it seemed great. He said he would put his people on it and take them off of other less time-critical jobs so he could get ours done quickly. He said he would send me a contract with a 25% down payment that day. A week and a half later I still hadn't seen the invoice, but given how he seemed at the original meeting, I didn't think much about it. He was supposed to be finished with the first draft of the plans within two weeks, so I did check in and ask how things were coming and wanted to make sure that he didn't need anything from us. I didn't hear anything for a couple of days and then on the day the plans were supposed to be complete, he sent me the invoice and said he would get going as soon as we paid the down payment. He hadn't done any work on our project to that point. Oh, and the price in the invoice was 40% higher than what he had originally quoted me. We had a meeting and I thought we were on the same page so I put in the down payment and he got to work. But then the work dragged on and on. The first plans were supposed to be to us on a Friday or maybe Monday. When I didn't hear anything by Tuesday, I called and left a message. No response. Then I emailed. No response. Finally the next day he emailed me back and said he was in a meeting when I called so he couldn't take the call. That was the only explanation I got. He finally got the plans to us on Thursday. It was 23 days since he said he would begin work on them and we told him how we wanted everything laid out, so the work on his end was minimal. So on Thursday we reviewed the plans with him and made some minor changes. He said he should be able to have the revisions to us the following day (Friday). Today is the following Thursday and we've seen no revisions. On top of that, he isn't answering our emails or phone calls. Mike is a pleasant guy, but I could never recommend him to anyone based on what we've seen so far (and we still have a long way to go). If things improve, I'll follow up down the road with more info.
