Lilian met with myself and my husband to discuss the possibilities for a gut reno on a duplex apartment in downtown Manhattan. She was the epitome of professionalism throughout our relationship. She came up with a fabulous solution to transform what was a two bedroom, two bath space into 3 bedrooms and a den. She went above and beyond to provide floor plans as well so we could visualize her ideas. Ultimately we decided this particular apartment was not the right fit for our family but when we do find the right space and it needs the loving care of an architect we will be using Lilian!

Lilian and her team were terrific in all respects. The finished product came out beautifully. She was much more than an architect for us. She was able to find a general contractor that fit our budget and needs, and worked hand-in-glove with the contractor so that everything went smoothly. For one room in particular, we were having trouble addressing all of our needs in the small space; Lilian kept looking for creative solutions to meet our requests. She was extremely responsive throughout; we felt like she was available 24/7, and no detail was too small for her personal attention. Even when there were questions that would normally be asked of an interior designer (which we did not have), Lilian and her team would graciously respond. For instance, Lilian picked the perfect white paint for our walls and also helped us find a fireplace mantel that was not only exactly what we wanted, but made sure it would be a safe mantel and size for our particular wood burning fireplace. And when the manufacturer delivered the mantel with incorrect sizing, it was Lilian's team that worked through the issue and (without us asking) even obtained a partial refund from the manufacturer for us.

I was so lucky to find Lilian on Houzz. She not only has a keen eye for project design, but she knows how to assemble a top-notch team of experts to address all aspects of a complex project, including engineers of all trades and dealing with the newly established building permit process at the DOB. Lilian is very organized and compiled a comprehensive project timeline that was really helpful. She was always very accessible, as was her entire team, for questions/issues arising along the way. The project involved a complete renovation and partial excavation of a damp, leaky, townhouse basement (cellar) that was slowly crumbling and only partially useable - the unfinished part had a dirt floor. Anything stored down there eventually was ruined from moisture. There is also a stream running under the building, so the excavation of the floor had to be handled very expertly. The space was completely waterproofed, and is now wide open, bright, dry - not one ounce of water leaked into the cellar during all the recent hurricanes. I now have a fully useable loft-like cellar, for storage, laundry, and entertainment. I highly recommend Lilian and her highly competent team.

She is a true professional and honest and charming individual. She is a good listener as well. We have started our project in April 2021 and the results shows how beautiful it transformed our apartment. The process, pricing, and communications were transparent. My wife and I were forced to renovate our apartment because of substantial water damage caused by the improper waterproofing of the new outdoor deck on the building set back above our apartment. In retrospect we selected the wrong contractor who was recommended and competitively priced. We provided a substantial retainer. The crew promised completion in 6 weeks. Three months later with no end in sight my wife and I were forced to stay in a nearby hotel. We bumped into Lilian Weinreich, an architect and friend in our lobby. Lilian was working at the time on a couple of renovations in our building. We told Lilian about our situation. Thankfully, Lilian took charge and we were able to move back into our apartment two weeks later. Lilian visited the site daily to ensure that the job progressed according to her construction schedule and that no short cuts were taken. Lilian is a knowledgeable building professional with exceptional management skills and is very talented. Evidence for her talent are amazing alterations in the building with a great eye for detail. We give her a 5-star rating and recommend her highly. When we do out next renovation we will absolutely retain Lilian!!!

Lilian did a wonderful job turning our apartment into a dream space. She redesigned our bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate our family needs. Her design choices were magnificent. The project came in within our budget and on time.

I've have worked with Lilian for a number of years now. Among the many architects and design professionals we see and work with handling our client's projects, Lilian stands out as one of the most meticulous, diligent professionals in the truest sense of the word we've seen. I've witnessed how in the process, Lilian capably balances being sensitive to the client's wants and needs while still maintaining a clear design vision. All to often, I've seen the needle swing too far one way (client dictates everything and there is no coherent design at the end) or the other (the design dictates everything and the client's lifestyle takes a backseat). The other thing that really stands out is the attention and care she puts in her projects. Her schedules are built out months in advance. She tracks running changes to the detailed specifications of all the finishes and equipment on the project (really critical on bigger projects that run over many months, where there may be many changes over time). Anyone can start rushing right before the client was expecting the project done, but she starts pushing months before D day to make sure everything is lined up and ready (because really, what's the point in rushing a week before the deadline? If it hasn't been done yet, it's too late already). It's a pleasure working with her on projects to help our mutual clients, because she'll communicate to make sure we both make the client happy. You can tell when someone really cares about the work they do and is willing to work late to make sure what needs to get done, does get done. I really don't take this for granted, as I recently worked with a designer who ordered the wrong product from us for a client, not once, not twice, but 3 times, as a result delaying the project's finish date and costing everyone money for the changes, all the while pointing fingers at everyone but herself. Unfortunately, there are professionals like that all the time, who make you wonder what what the client hired them for, that really make you question the word "professional". It's because I see the botch jobs that I can really appreciate what a gem Lilian is.

Fabulous! Lilian helped us select and gut renovate a pre war apartment including adding central air. She brilliantly reconfigured the floor plan to give us a series of gracious rooms that flow into one another seamlessly. More importantly she honored the prewar roots of our apartment with elegant modern details. Her attention to detail is unmatched! This was a complicated project but in Lilian's capable hands it came together beautifully!

Lilian Weinreich designed a very sleek, beautiful and sophisticated studio apartment for us. She reconfigured with great attention to detail the space we used to have and made it look brand new. The studio had no kitchen to speak of and she created a fully useable space, very modern and really gorgeous! And we have to also applaud the amazing mill worker with whom she works who built beautiful cabinetry. We are very happy with this renovation.

When considering a project that required a gut renovation in a prewar building, I went through a search of many architects listed on Houzz, among them Lilian. Her work stood out from the pack and seemed both beautiful and imaginative. I contacted her and received an immediate and reassuring response that she would be available to help with whatever was needed. Throughout our decision making process she was available to discuss and advise. The floor-plan she devised, was as I had hoped it would be- innovative and totally livable, making great use of the space. Although we ultimately decided not to move forward with this project, we look forward to working with her in the future.

I created a custom plaster finish for a client of Lilian's on Central Park South. Lilian was a joy to work with, professional in all aspects and brought excellent creative ideas to the table. The sample making process took several rounds and might have ruffled another persons feathers, but Lilian brought a decisive calm to every meeting with her friendly and professional demeanor. Lilian is the most talented, creative and wonderful architect we have worked with. We were thrilled to work with Lilian on the full renovation of our NoHo duplex. Lilian was our architect, designer and fully supervised our work. She did a wonderful job of understanding the needs of our family while creating a design that maximized the utility and beauty of our space. Lilian Weinreich is the best combination architect and designer that one can find in NYC. Lilian helped my wife and I refurbish our apartment on New York's upper east side. She handled all the bureaucratic steps that were required by the city and our co-op board. She came up with a plan that included all new floors throughout, a totally redone kitchen, the master bathroom, lighting throughout the apartment, and all new doors and hardware. In all decisions that had to be made we relied on Lilian's advice as she has impeccable taste. Lilian hired contractors and supervised them. Lilian's fee for doing all the work was reasonable and now we have a beautiful new apartment. Lilian richly deserves the five star rating we have given her.

Lilian, a wonderful fellow Australian & exacting architect bought my professional kitchen to life. Every detail, idea & plan was microscopically checked thoroughly to ensure the outcome would be my stunning, environmentally sustainable & highly efficient kitchen, able to produce meals for up to 100 but still aesthetically fit into a residential setting. It is a highly functional work of art!

I was not sure the plan for my renovated kitchen created by my current architect would work. I was not happy with the architect. He seemed uninvolved, detached, and somewhat arrogant. I felt there were differences in our styles. Communication was difficult. I reached out to Lillian because I considered changing architects. Lillian responded quickly and was very easy to talk to. She looked at my plan and confirmed it would work (given the apartment and building constraints). She was very honest and suggested I stay with my current architect to finish the project, as changing architects at this point would delay the completion of the renovation (which had had many other delays and was very far behind in terms of schedule). I appreciated her prompt response and honesty. We talked about creative differences between clients and architects, which could lead to problems in communication and conflict. Lilian stated that her ultimate goal is to work for the client and make sure the client is satisfied. My feeling is she would work with clients to resolve issues, not impose her ideas. I would recommend her highly. I wish I had found her when I was looking for an architect some months ago. I will use her when I do renovations in the future.

Lilian has been a dream to work with. Our first time working with Lilian we started out with one of our NYC properties, a challenging Micro apartment design and build. Lilian developed a highly functional layout with cutting edge design. Lilian's combination of Architectural skills and design concepts made the whole project come together. We are now working on a building in upstate NY, a re-adaptive use of a commercial building to high end apartments. The awkward floor layouts are challenging but Lilian again has proven her attention to detail to get the apartments to flow freely while selecting fixtures and finishes which give them the wow factor. We rate Lilian 5 plus stars!

I have an old house that was built in 1920. There was inadequate closet space in the master bedroom as well as poor lighting. Lilian drew up a plan with free standing closets and excellent lighting. She assembled a professional workforce with excellent contractors and mill workers. She was frequently present on the job consulting with the work crew. The result was all that I could have wished. A beautiful plan that has added to our use of the suite as well as to the overall value of my house. I recommend her most highly.
