We had a great experience working with Dan, Collin and the entire RemWhirl team. We had a complicated project that involved adding a new large addition onto an existing old cabin, remodeling part of the existing portion and blending the two together to make it look like one. We appreciated their assistance with every step of the project. We especially enjoyed being able to meet with them at the IMS building in Mpls, weekly if needed. The entire staff is a joy to work with right down to the finishing touches with Shannon and the landscape team. We may have broken away from their usual rustic style to capture a more classic cottage feel and they had no problem with that task. The interior design assistance from Erin and the weekly reports from Sarah were wonderful. We would highly recommend RemWhirl to anyone needing architectural and landscape design.

We were fortunate to collaborate on a project with RemWhirl last spring in northern Minnesota. What impressed us in the planning stages of the conservatory is they pulled the owner and contractor in with them. Not many architects are so open and willing to receive feedback. The upfront details and planning gave everyone involved knowledge of the project and the outcome. Collin, and his team, are highly approachable, knowledgeable and creative.

We started working with Dan at RemWhirl in 2013. We quickly came to realize their capabilities. Dan, Collin, Erin, Sarah, and Shannon proceeded to design our beautiful new lake home on the Whitefish Chain. The entire team is skilled, client focused, and provided one stop shopping for all of our lake home dreams.

We had been planning our cabin, which was to be our family compound, our dream, our heaven on earth, for years...but only in our minds...collecting pictures and ideas. We interviewed a number of architects and landed on Dan Whirley/RemWhirl. He and his team "got us". We felt they understood what we wanted, always listening and bringing our vision and ideas to life. They made our ideas "better" and suggested things we had not considered that made the place even better. They worked through every detail with us prior to selecting our builder which made the build process incredibly smooth. The Spruce Moose Lodge includes a main house, a carriage house, a "boathouse"--just a 10x12 water accessory unit :), and a wonderfully designed shoreline, beach, firepit, patio, and a beautiful entrance with pillars. The team stayed with us to assist us in selecting our builder and worked with the builder to the end. The RemWhirl team also designed and implemented our unbelievable landscaping plan, paying attention to every detail. We both agree, the design and build process was a wonderful experience and I was a little sad when it was over. But I must say enjoying our "heaven on earth" is even better than building it. Dan and his team did a great job of designing our dream (lake) home. We asked for a design that would remain timeless and Dan delivered. Dan makes the design process very convenient by having a Minneapolis office and meeting with us every week to review design concepts and keep the project moving without having to travel. I began planning my "forever home" with Remwhirl shortly after purchasing property on the Whitefish Chain two years ago. From the start Dan asked great questions and listened carefully to gain a thorough understanding of my lifestyle, preferences, tastes, quirks, and dreams. He always helped me clearly understand trade-offs in up-front costs, ongoing costs, functionality and aesthetics. He brought forward imaginative and clever ideas to enhance my vision and to solve issues on which I was stuck. My designer and draftsperson, Sarah, really understands the vision, gets the details, and is as responsive as anyone I've ever worked with...and never loses her sense of humor! The whole Remwhirl team balances friendliness and professionalism, and coordinates well with all the other people and businesses involved. We have just broken ground; the dream on paper is now being realized, with earth movers, pilings and concrete blocks; so stay tuned for ongoing progress reports!

Dan and his people at RemWhirl designed our lake home, worked with our contractor and with us during the construction stage, and did our landscape design and installation. We are elated with the result and with RemWhirl’s supportive role throughout the process. We started with some pretty specific ideas about floor plan and the look and feel we were seeking. Dan is a patient listener and then exceptional at coming back with designs that turned ideas into our home. He also is quite good at negotiating disputes between spouses during the design phase. As people walk through our lake home, time and time again their comments are about details that were suggested by Dan and his people. I met with Dan in early 2011 with a concept and some rough ideas of what we wanted to build. Dan and the crew at RemWhirl turned the ideas into our new Cottages of which 4 of the 6 are built. They are nothing short of spectacular and have been a tremendous addition to our resort. Additionally, RemWhirl designed our new Check-in facility, which we moved into in Feb 2012 and our new pool building, which will be completed in the spring of 2014. Dan and the crew have been a pleasure to work with and the results have greatly exceeded our expectations every step of the way.
