Lisa at LKM design has been wonderful to work with for our house addition and renovation. We have a 1928 house, and she designed and reconfigured a new kitchen, porch, laundry room, mud room, primary bathroom and closet for us! She has strong attention to detail, and she added so many new and fresh ideas to our design. She brought our house into the 21st century so that it works for our family. We started with the basics, and she made the house shine with her ideas and design! I highly recommend Lisa!

Lisa Muskat of LKM Design worked with us on a full-house gut renovation. The house we bought had been neglected for nearly half a century, so it needed stabilization, remediation, and reimagining. Lisa collaborated with us to produce a plan that seamlessly unites the 1700’s house with its 1800’s addition and created flow and purpose where there had been dusty corners. She really brought this house back to life! Every professional Lisa brought in to the project was excellent. She was flexible, creative, and mindful of our budget in a project where absolutely nothing was standard. She made a sometimes stressful undertaking enjoyable, and we always looked forward to our Monday site meetings as the highlight of the week. Her appreciation for historic architecture, extensive professional experience, and depth of design resources rebuilt a house that is a delight to live in. We look forward to working with her again as we continue the rehabilitation of this property!

We have know Lisa Muskat of LKM Design for over 18 years. We are a local builder and have worked with her on numerous projects including our own home. Lisa was able to take our concepts and ideas and make them a reality. She is extremely talented and an assist to any project.

Like many family’s who own colonials, we had a formal living room which was sparsely decorated and never used. After many years of passing it by and dreaming, we spoke to LMK’s Lisa Muskat and approached her with some design ideas about a clubby bar/lounge . She immediately knew what look we were going for and drew up a sketch. From that original sketch came wall papered ceilings, a stunning bar and colors that have created a room in our house that expresses who we are. She worked with us, talked with us and most important, Lisa listened to us. The room is more than we could have asked for, people who walk in it usually take pictures. Work people who created the space ask to take pictures. People who delivered furniture asked us if they could take pictures. It is a stunning room with a “grown up” NYC lounge feel and Lisa really helped nail down the entire project. Her deign esthetics, her creative process , her understanding when to reach for the stars and when to tone it down , made a incredible addition to our home. I highly recommend LMK and Lisa Muskat .

When it came time to give our kitchen a much need facelift, we knew we needed to use LKM again. We wanted to keep our existing cabinets, but replace a banquette and desk area that was seldom used. Lisa designed custom cabinets for the banquette area, adding a second sink, small fridge and built in microwave and pantry cabinets. All of the cabinets were repainted and the old and the new blend seamlessly. In addition, Lisa and Melissa updated our lighting, added new fixtures, picked out replacement plumbing fixtures, wall colors and wallpaper. They also took on updating our outdated entry. Basically they transformed our most used living areas. The spaces function better than we could have ever imagined and everything looks fantastic, thank you!

I hired LKM Design to create custom cabinetry for a kitchen and pantry/laundry renovation in my 1790 home, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the finished product! Lisa was wonderfully receptive to my vision for the overall look and layout, and brought so much insight and experience to elevate the design. The quality is stunning and perfectly melds with my historic home.

We purchased our center hall colonial 20+ years ago, and lived with an awkward layout for most of that time because we could not find a solution to the flow issues. We approached LKM when we decided to add on a full master on the ground floor, and they blew us away with their solutions for incorporating the new space. In addition to the master addition, they also provided suggestions to fix the entire flow of the house. We ended up going forward with all of their suggestions, and we couldn’t be any happier with how our house functions now. As we continue living in the new spaces, it becomes more and more obvious that the LKM team thought of everything in the design phase. Lisa also has a broad list of contacts she uses for stone, custom cabinets, built-ins, tile, etc, that were invaluable. It is obvious that she has fostered relationships with each of these contacts over many years, and we benefited greatly from it. Finally, the service does not stop when the design is completed. Lisa and Melissa were heavily involved during the entire project. From lighting and paint selections to construction management, they were there every step of the way. We used a well-known and respected design and build company for our last addition, and the difference in service is remarkable. I knew I didn’t have to worry about anything with this project – and I am so thankful that they care as much as they do, because it made all of the difference with this project. When planning a kitchen remodel we wanted a design that worked with the entire first floor including the layout, furnishings, fixtures, finishes and lighting. At “design to build” and kitchen shops we were shown kitchen designs that were updates to our existing kitchen layout with a few improvements but overall seemed cramped due to our desire for an island and additional storage. We needed a kitchen, lighting, interior designer and architect all roll into one and were not finding it. We were referred to LKM Design by a local realtor. Lisa and her associate from LKM Design met with my husband and I and within a few weeks had a design that we loved. Little details like aligning the passages from the kitchen to adjoining rooms opening up the house from one end to the other, adding a pantry and closet where a redundant hallway was, and an arch separating the dining room from the kitchen are just a few of the creative details they provided. We got the island we wanted and more storage space but it is also more open and spacious. LKM also identified options for flooring, fixtures and trim, backsplash designs, installers, fabrics, and much more. With the remodel completed we are very pleased, it is a completely different space. Our friend and associates are amazed with the end result.

I have worked with LKM on 2 projects and both have turned out beautifully! Lisa has an amazing talent for interpreting space and she's very creative in using that space. I also think her taste in finishes (tile, lighting, fixtures, etc) is great and she always finds something a bit unique to add. This particular client responds well to a quiet and sophisticated palette and LKM fulfilled that aesthetic. As an interior designer, I especially appreciate her openness to other ideas and working as a team to get the best possible outcome for the project. She is a true professional and very easy to work with!

We have done three large projects together in my home: a kitchen “plus” project (mudroom entry, hall, built in dog kennel, porch with pergola and a full kitchen wrapping around cabinetry and renovating the fireplace mantle and surround into the family room). The kitchen has a beautiful pewter counter top from France that was difficult to procure; Lisa was able to step in, find an alternate source and get the piece made, delivered and installed just as I had envisioned. What really struck me about her skill set on this particular project was that the exterior of the house that abuts the kitchen was brought into the fold of the design. This is an area I hadn’t considered at the onset. The second project was creating a suite for my son. This involved reconfiguring a Jack and Jill bathroom set up between two bedrooms and creating two walk-in closets where there were none and two new bathrooms. In this project there was a lot of work for Lisa with different rooflines as a second floor deck was captured as part of the new space. The third project was completed last winter, a master bedroom walk in closet. It started with the walk in closet but as the design evolved I decided to renovate the entire master bath and bedroom in addition to creating a new closet space. Working hand in hand with the contractor we were able to able get everything accomplished and, I had a lofty wish list. There was no walk in closet in the original master. Lisa’s vision was to capture the space above the foyer. The results are magical. Starting with the change in the foyer-as dramatic as it is, it actually looks like it was part of the house’s original design. Lisa managed to include every feature I asked for in the closet, master bath and bedroom. Every thing works as it should, my objective was met; we can dress and pack right in the closet. She sourced beautiful antique light fixtures, designed a spectacular bathroom and a master closet that includes an island with a bench, a coffee bar, refrigerator with a tiny sink and a sound system through out the space. I enjoy working with Lisa; she is a very good listener in addition to her design talent. Her work is top notch; on multiple projects she has incorporated all the elements on my wish list into the space. She is very clever, a wonderful problem solver and she can make decisions on the spot, which I like!

At the time of our planning, LKM design helped bring our dreams into a tangible and beautiful reality. They helped us with decisions big and small and helped us complete our entire dream home with detail, perfection and warmth. Can't say enough. Thank you, LKM!

We removed a wall, remodeled our kitchen, and replaced the 30 year old tile that covered our entire first floor this past year. While it may not have been a big project by some standards, it felt big to us. And I can't even begin to imagine how the project would have gone without LKM Design. From the very beginning, Lisa listened to what we were hoping to accomplish, made great suggestions, was patient with design iterations, delivered sound, practical advice, and helped keep the project moving on schedule.
