thanks so much for the review. It's great to hear that your home continues to give you satisfaction. Thinking about your project and what we've talked about together, it has lead me to think about what it really is that keeps me motivated and inspired in this work: It's not only the transforming of spaces, nor is it simply in making my clients happy (although these certainly are part of the mix), but it is, primarily I think, being part of a process that can create spaces that reinforce and corroborate my clients' best selves--designing a home that reinforces their aspirations, and provides an open, tranquil space that allows the family to grow and develop optimally. A close friend of mine is a family and marriage therapist, and we often compare notes on our (seemingly) different careers. What we have found is that in many ways the focus of our jobs is quite similar: We use structures, and the process of developing those structures, to help lay the groundwork for our clients' future lives. My friend works more directly with our mental structures, I work more directly with physical structures, of course, but the result, and the aim, are similar: Creating mental space / physical space that might allow our clients the breathing room (in my case, literally) to flourish on their chosen path. So it is of supreme satisfaction to me when I have clients, such as you and Ari and Mia, who can fully appreciate what we've created together.
