McIntosh Poris Architects

We are working with the McIntosh Poris Team together on a new Construction in a Historic District area in Down Town Detroit. It is not so easy and we had to go through some changes but in the end we received all the approvals we need. The support is great and the team help us to get our dream much closer to build. Michael the owner is very patient and a good listener to what the customer likes. We would use them again with out a question.

Michael designed a beautiful home for us in Bloomfield Hills, on Long Lake. We've lived in the house for over 16 years and still love it today. He is an excellent designer who really listened and is easy to work with. I would highly recommend him.

I have had the opportunity to work with McIntosh Poris on two very different home projects. The first project was a major home new build project with significant architectural details and design and a large budget. The second project was much smaller, existing home purchase requiring a few design elements and incorporating existing furniture treasures with a specific budget in mind. Both projects were completed to my complete satisfaction. Not only does Michael and his staff bring tremendous experience and resources, they also are very collaborative and attentive to the needs of the client. No matter how big or how small the scope, they will accommodate any need with the utmost professionalism. I highly recommend their services!

We absolutely love our Mid-Century Modern 1960 ranch that McIntosh Poris Associates remodeled for us. They took a house that neighbors described as dated and "needing a lot of love" and turned it into a fantasy house - one that is both contemporary and comfortable for those of us who live here (including our two young children). MPA was fabulous to work with. They incorporated our ideas, taste and priorities while pulling it all together in a creative, artistic and livable style. They remained within our budget and were responsive to us throughout the process. The result is an absolutely beautiful space that enhances our lives every day. We would use MPA again in a heartbeat.

Great firm! Super talented and visionary. The reason we chose McIntoshPoris is that their aesthethic matched ours and we liked their 'holistic' approach to house design. They designs homes to live in which sounds obvious but is not always when it comes to architects. Michael is very patient and flexible about how he works with his clients.

McIntosh Poris did three projects for us. First...Michael Poris refurbished a condo of Architectural Record and did so while maintaining every significant element with no comprimise. Second, a home that has won national and international acclaim--has been published widely and even made it into a resource for the top homes in the world--not because it is huge and grand, but because it is relatively small but miraculously placed within a small lot with the back all woods. Third, a total buildout of a new office space that is over the top. Michael is brilliant, extremely talented, an excellent listener and very thorough in all he does. I recomend him to everyone that needs great design by showing them our house and office, then there is no explanation needed. He was hired in 2005, 2007 and just now in 2013 for the new office.
