Melissa's view of interior design is straight-forward. Her job is to help clients create a space that reflects who they are. Whether it is a whole-house renovation or a single-room makeover, Melissa believes a successful interior highlights the expertise of the designer, and more importantly, speaks to the personality of the client.
Melissa helps her clients capture a one-of-a-kind look that goes beyond the retail sameness of today's home furnishings market. Her clients' ideas, photos and family heirlooms often provide inspiration for their rooms.
"It's all about making a house a home," says Melissa. "If I can realize my clients vision for a space and delight them with the results, then that's a job well done."
She founded Melissa Broffman Interior Design in 1998 after apprenticing with leading residential design firms in the Washington Area. She earned her B.A. in interior design from Marymont University in 1995. Prior to studying design, Melissa spent nearly a decade in the fast-paced world of television news, covering stories and special events for CNN.
Whether the goal is traditional, eclectic, transitional or modern, she knows what is appropriate and how to instill a room with character, comfort and timeless appeal. From initial consultation to final installation, she guides clients through matters of form and function, while emphasizing quality, value and personal style.
Melissa is an active Allied Member of the local chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
