Michael Masilotti is an outstanding architect with a profound commitment to the quality of his work and the best interests of his clients. I have seen him solve difficult issues with insight, compassion, and careful attention to the building code and California law. We are very fortunate to have found Michael Masilotti Architects for our Laguna Niguel residential home remodel / addition. Micheael created a beautiful plan to add 1000 square feet to our home and remodel the remaining 2000 square feet to create a design that met our vision and budget perfectly. Michael has always been very timely in answering our questions and guiding us through the process. At times “saving us from ourselves” Michael gets our highest recommendation for architectural services.

It has been great working with Michael on our custom home in Dana Point. He has been easy to work with, he is accommodating to our schedule and has been supportive during the process. All of the neighbors walking by our house, which is almost complete, comment on how beautiful the house is and that they appreciate the increase in value to the community. Throughout the process we are glad that we chose Michael for our architecture on this property.

Michael was wonderful to work with and creatively drew up functional architectural plans for us. He listened to our wishes and needs. We did start out with a plan that had "all the bells and whistles," but when we realized we needed to pull back due to budget constraints, Michael was key to helping us pare back without us loosing the our overall desires and needs. We went from an outdated early 70's track house with absolutely no curb appeal (and loads of wasted space) to a nice, light-filled, modern farmhouse that will be our forever home.

Michael did an excellent job with the remodel of our home. His imaginative approach challenged my wife and I to step away from our comfort zone (and what we always do) and build a home significantly different than originally imagined. With his guidance we achieved an extremely efficient “family friendly” layout that accents the many attributes of our home and surrounding yard. We absolutely love our new home.

Michael is friendly, honest and easy to work with. He strove to understand our design objectives and produced a creative, functional and beautiful home for us. He has great relationships with building and safety folks and provided assistance in getting our permits and association approvals. Michael has our unqualified recommendation. We will retain Michael on out next project.

Mike is a very talented designer who works closely with his clients to tailor living spaces that enhance their lifestyle. He communicates clearly with clients to determine how they wish to live in the space he designs. We asked for an open floor plan, a music room, a library, and complete access to the outdoors. We got a space that flows inside/outside making both "entertaining" areas as well as private space. It's fully functioning floor plan for a family that truly uses all the rooms in the house. Mike used a strong sense of rhythm and repetition to make our house space graceful and serene. There is an easy flow to the space and that makes for easy living. Every detail is well thought out and planned for in advance. His sense of style was seamless, inside to outside. Attention to detail was very important to us. We are artists and musicians who truly appreciate details in finish and stylistic elements. We built all the trims he drew and our house is fabulous for it. We made materials available to Mike that were unusual (lumber post hurricane Katrina) and he just made the very most of it. Our house is unique in plan and in execution. We truly enjoyed the planning phase of the homebuilding and for that we can only thank Mike Masilotti.
