Michael Norpell's Wall To Wall

Michael is extremely talented and designed something beautiful for us, and then everything went downhill. This became the worst project I've ever undertaken with a contractor. Michael's communication went from kind and relatively prompt to something akin to pulling teeth, and then halfway through the contract, he stopped communicating with us completely. He basically did a third of the job and then disappeared. We never received detailed or final drawings, plant specifications, or the permits we were told he would acquire. We ended up spending a lot more money--we're still dealing with the aftermath--and the whole project was delayed a full year. I don't really understand what happened at all, and I tried to get an explanation--for months, I sent emails reaching out to him with zero response--but I finally gave up.

Michael is a great designer. I love his work ... not just the installation he did for me but every project that he has completed. Michael is professional; so quick to respond, and the most creatively talented designer.

Michael did the right things to understand my taste and preferences, and matched with excellent layouts and finishes. He also pushed me a little outside my comfort zone in selecting a dramatic countertop that proved to be a gorgeous statement in the kitchen.

Michael Norpell is an outstanding designer conceptually & practically..He listens !! He created options & helped me realistically & clearly envision a master bedroom suite. Although my suit is less than 500 sq ft, Michael created a design worthy of 10,000 sq ft. The bedroom has a cathedral ceiling, bump-out window seat & fabric focal wall serving as a headboard. The walk-in closet is designed to match my specific needs. The beautiful bathroom has a water-fall/wave theme carried through the shower tile, wall tile, faucets & vanity hardware. Michael is the driving creative force behind the architectural drawings. Additionally Michael provides creative guidance to the contractor & trades. Michael is passionate about his work. He is truly fun & exceptionally thorough. I would strongly recommend Michael Norpell.

Michael designed our front entry walk and rear patio hardscape. His design was very professional, creative, unique and most importantly the design aesthetic was what we were looking for and had described to him. He spec'd out the details and material requirements of each aspect of the project.

Michael has been a life-saver for our challenging home-renovation project. His ability to listen to -- and remember, long after the fact -- what both my wife and I tell him is remarkable. Unlike other designers and architects we have worked with, Micheal has a wonderful grasp on how to design things that we love, while keeping in mind the practicalities of the building process, so we can actually afford the design and make it happen. Michael's knowledge of all things interior and exterior i.e.- plant/landscape- soft and hardscape are what makes him so unique as a professional. He wears many different hats that enable him to hone in on his interior and exterior design skills, as well as the technical aspects of an indoor and/or outdoor project. He "gets" his clients and is intuitive with his vision to the point where you wonder if he can actually read your mind. :) He picked up a landscape project that was touched by many different people previously and stole the show. Works with all budgets which is always an asset for a designer. Highly recommend him for anyone who needs someone to help them transform their space - either interior or exterior and take it to a new level. I love my backyard - it's exactly what I wanted and more.

I consider myself fortunate to be working with Michael on our lower level family space. He wisely advised against a major, messy, expensive project in favor of a family-friendly redesign and update route. My husband and I are so thankful he did! We loved all three design sketches, which were beautifully presented and all honored our specific requests for the space. His enthusiasm and charm are firmly backed by architectural know-how and a gifted eye for utility of space. Most importantly, he knows how to make it fun! His flawless professionalism and quick response time make all the difference in moving our project along. Michael is extraordinarily helpful, even running errands for me so I don't have to pack up the baby: above and beyond! He has made himself available for questions and concerns throughout the process. Wall to Wall is amazing! Michael Norpell helped me decorate our entire house, both inside and out. He made this house into a home - and that was no small fete! His attention to detail, courteous and professional manner and enthusiasm for his craft coupled with his dynamic personality made him a joy to work with. It was incredible how the shifting of furniture, arranging of bookcases, and lighting change a room from cold to cozy and small to spacious. I recommend Michael and Wall to Wall extremely highly.

Michael was very easy to work with! Having recently done an interior remodel, he was able to stage my landscaping project to maximize my budget. He made striking improvements by relocating existing plant materials to where they would perform better, filling in sections that were sparse or where light conditions had changed. Teaching me all the while, he then created a plan for fill in plants appropriate to the light, soil and water conditions. Upon delivery he "placed" them so I could do the smaller planting myself! I have my own lawn maintenance crew who planted the larger species, under Michael's guidance. I look forward to working with Michael on phase three, spring of '15!
