My husband and I hired Stuart Narofsky and ways2design to design- and- build our contemporary residence on Long Island. We are absolutely thrilled with the results. Stuart was very responsive to our needs and wishes, we feel he managed to accomplish everything in our home we had dreamt about. We are also very satisfied with the quality of the construction. Stuart is an amazingly creative architect, who thrives to find the best possible solution to the design issue at hand. He is also very innovative and ready to use the newest materials and design ideas. Thanks to him we now have a custom-built spiral staircase with resin walls and retractable glass walls at our pool. The interiors were done by ways2design to the highest possible standards with great expertise. We could not be happier with our home. I would whole-heartedly recommend Narofsky Architecture and ways2design to anyone thinking of hiring an architect or interior designer.

We hired the Narofsky team to design and build our house and they did a great job! We gave Stuart a long list of our requirements, and left him a lot of creative leeway to develop beautiful and unique design using a lot of materials we had salvaged from our property, for instance when a hurricane felled 5 trees we were able to switch from ceramic tile to locust wood siding. After interviewing several architects, Stuart Narofsky gets it! He was the only architect that listened and was able to create a home reflecting our life style and vision of our low maintenance, sustainable home. It was a collaborative project...open, honest, respectful and stunning. Jen Rusch,- ways2design joined our posse early on. Jenn's ecstatic and wonderful sense of design integrated and enhanced gracefully into our vision. Both Stuart and Jennifer are open and innovative, they are well versed in new building material, products and resources. They worked tireless to find the right product for our home. Their extensive library of materials and contacts to the best of trades made the design and build experience very rewarding. Jen took me to so many cool and great showrooms , presenting me with beautiful and cohesive materials that we are living with and enjoying in our home today. Both the Narofsky Architecture and ways2design staff worked extraordinarily well together to create our unique home. There were challenges in construction, design and finance which were always worked out with sensitivity, cooperation and understanding. Thinking out of the box is something they do really well. It's been two years since we moved into the house. It is like living in a beautiful sculpture with so many amazing opportunities to experience the different points of views looking in or looking out. The house is a warm, cozy and easy to live in. All the space is usable and functions as planned. Today my husband fired up the pizza oven and we invited family and friends over. People are in awe of the cozy feeling that our poured in place concrete home has. The house works whether you want tranquility or want have a big party. And yes.... after 2 years of design and 3 years of building we are loving our "home team!" We could of never done this project with any other team. They are true to their craft, professional, and honest.

We have been working with Stu Narofsky for the past 6 years on various projects such as several additions to our home and the construction of our pool house and outdoor landscaping. Stu has been a pleasure to work with from the onset. We are beyond thrilled with our results. Stu has an unmatched creative mind and thinks out of the box for creative solutions. Stuart Narofsky Architecture was hired for his design and project coordination of a second story deck that measured approximately 22 feet by 11 feet.They were also involved in the permitting requirments with the local Board and Town Building departments. Additionally, Stuart prepared the bids which resulted in a selection process that narrowed the field of potential contractors and assisted in the final selection of a general contractor.Mr. Narofsky's knowledge and experience was instrumental in resolving issues with both the plans examiner and the local building inspector. No matter what Stu was asked to do he did it with a calm professional demeanor. All of the associates in his firm reflected the same professional demeanor...they also were execeptionally knowledgeable and put their customers and their needs first . It was a pleasure dealing with all of them and I look forward to referring them to my friends and family in the future!!!

As the designer and owner of a landscape design/build company, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many architects over 25 years. Over this time, Stuart Narofsky has always been the singular standout. He has the unusual combination of incredible design talent and absence of arrogance that all too often makes it difficult to work with talented architects. It has always been remarkable to me to observe that even after many years of professional work, he steadfastly avoids the mediocrity of offering the same old design formula. He approaches each design fresh and on its own terms. His excitement and enthusiasm in the design process remains unabated. And because he is such a great communicator, his excitement is infectious and his enthusiasm palpable. His openness to input from clients, other professionals and trades is a mark of his complete and well-deserved confidence in his design abilities and communication skills. In the translation from design to implementation, he has always shown the greatest diffidence in dealing with others, above and below him. This helps to build a team spirit amongst the multiple trades building his projects and permits the complicated process of construction to proceed smoothly. His time tested teams of contractors work toward the Stuart’s goal of excellence. And in the fray of this difficult process, he never loses sight of his vision; this insures for his clients that the built product is just as incredible as his original design ideas.

We went to Narofsky after having problems with our original architect and could not be more happy with the results. Stuart [Narofsky] started by asking us about our lifestyle, what we enjoy doing, and how we "live" in a house, and, following that discussion, presented us with a house that truly reflects who we are. Whether it's the kitchen that leads to the outside deck, the tub room overlooking the water or the all-wood ceilings, every piece and part of the house feels perfectly placed. Our particular build was also fairly complicated due to being located on a steep hill and because we are part of a coop, but Stuart and his group worked patiently through it all, remaining respectful to us and our neighbors throughout the process. And Stuart's wife -- through ways2design -- provides a beautiful compliment to Stuart's architecture. Like Stuart, she works to deliver a look and feel that is driven by the client's desires. She guides you through the entire design process, while, at the same time, ensuring that all decisions are collaborative. Her team also did an amazing job of giving us various options based on price points, and never made us feel pressured to choose the priciest option [in fact, many times she pointed out the opposite]. So while Stuart and his wife are each amazing at what they do, we were incredibly lucky to have both working on our home. Their out of the box thinking and incredible sense of design has created for us a one-of-a-kind house that truly feels like a home.

These guys design and build homes that fit their surroundings using modern, sustainable materials in a way that you'd expect to see in Scandinavia, California or the American Northwest. It's always a joy to be involved with Narofsky projects. Their clients seem to feel the same!

The project was a complete gut renovation of a Fifth Avenue apartment.I was amazed at the transformation of this prosaic post war space into a contemporary open "drop dead" living space with great flow and amazing slick detail.With Narofsky's extensive experience( he has done professional offices,other apartments and houses for me) there was no problem that arose that he could not solve effortlessly.He is a pleasure to work with and it almost seems I seek projects to allow him to show his genius.Presently we are doing an extensive renovation of a Conneticut shed roof 70's design that his design converted from a collection of mis sized misplaced rooms into a children's floor of perfectly proportioned functional bedrooms.The main living space is now a flowing open contemporary loft like feeling.Another opinion suggested demolition and start anew.

Stuart Narofsky put together several well thought out designs for the renovation of our traditional colonial home on Long Island. We selected a design that worked perfectly for our family of 5. We expanded our existing den into the backyard and incorporated a custom bar area that did not interfere with the view of our backyard. The yard was completely transformed into an oasis with in ground pool and outdoor cabana and bar that Narofsky designed. In addition, a beautiful master bedroom suite was designed to afford us ample living space as well as a large master bath and walk in closets. I would highly recommend working with Narofsky Architecture for your architectual needs.

After 25 years, our vacation home had become outdated and too small. We talked to several architects, but Stu's vision and creativity transcended the rest. We eventually knocked down a good part of the house, and almost doubled the size. Stu and his staff were very hands on during construction, and remained cognizant of our budget. They were able to diffuse what we thought could have been major issues that arose, and injected a calmness into what often is a stressful undertaking. The result -- an Architectural Digest award winning home, which perfectly accommodates what we set out to achieve, and which we love. I would recommend Stu Narofsky without hesitation.

Complete redesign of my apartment. We started with the outside walls and built a new space. Great vision for the space. Great design, very professional work. Great bidding process. Tight supervision of contractors. Highest quality work demanded and achieved.
