We worked with Lisa for over 2 years designing and then constructing our major remodel. She turned a one story ranch into the two story home of our dreams. She really understood our vision and designed a home that was beautiful and extremely functional. Her experience was invaluable throughout the process. Her attention to detail is superb. She caught so many seemingly small things that should be fixed or altered or were missed, from the blueprints to the actual build, and she isn't afraid to advocate for her clients with the contractors. She's warm and easy to talk to and bounce ideas around with. She never pushes her own ideas but will give sound advice if she thinks there is a design /aesthetic or structural reason to make a certain choice. She was punctual and most of all, thoroughly prepared, for every weekly meeting during the building phase. I would recommend her and Nashawtuc to anyone looking to build or remodel in this area.

Architect Anita Rogers and Designer Klaudia White directed our major home renovation with uncommon talent and extraordinary good humor under exceptionally trying conditions—we were out-of-state clients, then the pandemic hit. The team at Nashawtuc carried on, improving our remodel wish list with thoughtful suggestions and beautifully functional design. With meticulous attention to detail, they gave us a lovely new kitchen and pantry, a library, a primary bedroom/bath/closet suite plus a guest bath and powder room. We are delighted with the results and highly recommend them to future clients.

When it was time to redo our kitchen, our first call was to Lisa Adamiak at Nashawtuc Architects, Inc. She responded right away, and came to the house. She took measurements and asked us three questions. What don't you like about your present kitchen? What do you like? What do you want? In response, we gave her a list of do's and don'ts. In a few days, she came back with 4 or 5 designs which incorporated all of our requests, detailed in different ways. We were very pleased that she actually had listened to what we said and we were able to make decisions based on her suggestions. We were very satisfied with the work she did for us, and the final product. We feel that her expertise, professionalism and attention to detail were very important to getting the kitchen we wanted. We went from a galley kitchen with dining area to a full open concept kitchen. We would highly recommend Lisa for any home remodeling or building project, and would definitely call her again if needed.

Alan

We engaged Nashawtuc Architects to design our new house. Unfortunately it was not a good experience and we ended up firing them. Their work was substandard, lacking imagination and creativity. Any interesting ideas were ones that we provided. We had to continually ask about a timeline and to prod them forward with their work. Otherwise, nothing happened. They did not ask us about a budget, and eventually provided us with a draft plan and rough budget that was more than two times what we had available to spend. In addition, their monthly bills lacked details and were just buckets of hours, the amounts of which were not justified by the work product. Overall, while the architects were reasonably pleasant to deal with (ignoring the lack of follow-through), their architectural work was unprofessional. We came away without any confidence that they could deliver satisfactory results. Clearly the reputation that was built by Holly Cratsley is no longer deserved now that she has retired.

Unfortunately, we had to invoice Alan for 3 months before receiving a single payment from him. Alan’s negative review reflects only the fact that we prevailed in requiring that he pay for our professional services even though he chose to avoid the effort involved in building a new home and sold the lot instead.
Nashawtuc Architects has a 32-year history of positive collaboration between client and architect and that has not changed.

Lisa Adamiak and the team at Nashawtuc Architects are creative, responsive, and a joy to work with. We collaborated on a home in Needham, MA. and they transformed it into a functional and beautifully scaled (and detailed) family home. The team at Nashawtuc was always positive, helpful, and effective in problem solving and thinking through design details throughout the process of renovating this property. Most importantly, the homeowners feel thankful and beyond pleased with the results!

She is always motivated to find the best solution, she researches whatever it takes, she dives deep down on every single detail. Her creative and solid solutions for the complexity of our home were truly amazing. She worked with our builders incredibly well and she helped us achieve an incredible dream home!
