I have greatly enjoyed working with Paul and his team at Paul Davis Architects. Being a contractor for 20 years, I admire the attention to detail that Paul provides, not only has an architect, but as a Project Manager and liaison to the client's visions. Since completing our first project together in 2016, I have had the opportunity to work side-by-side with him on various other projects around the city of Venice, CA. PDA always designs with intentions of creating unique spaces with practical functionality. He and his team at PDA are easy to collaborate with and responsive to any and all communication. His expansive knowledge of design and build is showcased in his detailed drawings, outlines of project schedules, and in his vernacular to clients, making the process of remodeling and renovations smooth and easy to accomplish for all parties involved. As a contractor, I appreciate and recommend Paul Davis Architects for any upcoming project.

We couldn't have been happier with the work Paul and his team did on our remodel! His work literally transformed our home. We think it looks beautiful and everyone that comes to our home says the same. Our complaint with our 1952 home prior to the remodel was that the layout was awkward and it lacked a nice flow. In interviewing architects, they all recommended an addition, although a larger home was not necessarily our wish. Paul was the only one who did not recommend an addition but instead suggested a more intelligent use of space. This not only adhered to our wishes, but saved us costs associated with adding on and changing the roof line. His talent and extensive experience was apparent with his suggestions for home layout and design each step of the way. One of the things we appreciated most was how he simplified our choices by providing us with his top three picks for materials like tile, flooring, etc., thus saving us a lot of time and frustration. The only challenge was choosing the best out of three great options! And it was certainly a pleasure working with someone as professional, positive, calm, and competent as Paul. Additionally, he is just an all around nice guy with a great wit and sense of humor and is a pleasure to be around. You can't go wrong with PDA!

We have had the pleasure of working with Paul Davis Architects over the course of 3 separate projects on our one house. We loved our Cliff May and wanted to update and restore our home while still remaining in residence on the property with our 2 children. PDA made this possible, and made it comfortable and safe. The entire team at PDA carefully considered our needs, desires and ultimate vision for the home, and the finished product is a space that is warm, inviting and ideal for family living and entertaining. The public spaces are light-filled, and open, yet not cavernous. The private spaces of the home are scaled perfectly and have a warmth while providing plenty of space. We have entertained often, gatherings from 10 people up to 100 and guests repeatedly remark on the beauty and comfort of the space, and we can attest to the ease of entertaining in our home. Maintaining the look, feel and integrity of our Cliff May "California Ranch" home and utilizing sustainable and eco-friendly options during construction were both important to us. Our collaboration with PDA exceeded our expectations. The care and attention to everything from small, fine details to overall floor plan was essential in creating a stunning and balanced finished product. Our home looks and feels very much like a Cliff May, just a bit more modern and functional. PDA was also actively interested in incorporating eco-friendly features into our home, from solar water heaters, to denim insulation, and a myriad of recycled/green products, PDA seamlessly integrated them into our home. Furthermore, PDA was key in managing the overall project. From knowledgeably and skillfully overseeing the construction and building process, to painstakingly reviewing the contractor billings and change orders we always felt that PDA was looking out for our best interests. Working with Paul and his team over these three remodels we became and have stayed friends. This collaboration was enjoyable and enlightening and the finished product is adored by our family and everyone who sets foot in our home.

Paul Davis and his team designed our new free-standing master bedroom suite. They helped us by securing the permits, and administered construction with our general contractor. This home addition takes the form of a full new 4-sided building, connected to the main house by a slender passage. The addition is bright and roomy, but no bigger than it needs to be. Its location was coordinated perfectly with a wonderful old tree in our back yard. A new paved courtyard (with charming wall fountain), master deck and carport were also included in the work. We are particularly happy that the addition feels like an original part of our house - PDA's sensitivity to context was excellent. Overall, the project came in on-budget and was a complete success. PDA's design work and effort in bringing the project through to completion were exemplary. We are delighted with the results and could not imagine being more pleased with the overall process. We worked with Paul and his team on an expansion and complete renovation of our home. Taking on the roles of architect, project manager, and designer, Paul was involved in every step of the process, from drafting plans and seeking permits to choosing finishes and other interior design details. I cannot say enough about Paul's professionalism, talent, and demeanor. Projects as large as ours inevitably hit snags, and Paul's consistently positive attitude and creative approach to his work got us through those rough patches. We are extremely happy with the final result. The house is filled with light and perfectly designed for our needs as a family. We worked with Paul Davis Architects to complete a remodel of our home. We redid the main floor layout, the kitchen, reworked the fireplace and surrounding mantle, created an office guest room combination, and updated design elements in the remainder of the home. The team created an amazing design and the oversaw the project all the way through completion. They also recommended contractors and helped us to establish a relationship with the general contractor that we hired for the job. We did not use an interior designer so their team helped us select furnishings that were in-line with the overall design. We highly recommend Paul Davis Architects.

I have been working with Paul and his team for over 10 years. Paul Davis Architects (PDA) understands the importance of working together in the common goal of completing a great project. Paul designed a house for me and my family, a 3,500 square foot cutting edge modernist design in Newport Beach, California. We are extremely happy with the design. Modern houses tend not to be very livable. They're set pieces for people with multiple addresses. This is a family home where we raised our children. The rooms are full of light and nicely proportioned to foster human interaction. Broad sliding glass doors open on to gardens and terraces. In summer we throw them open and live partly outdoors. Nevertheless, it's rigorous modern building and no shortcuts were taken in the design. Modern houses are notoriously difficult to build. But the plans were so exceptionally detailed, and Paul's job supervision was so good that there was very little difficulty in construction (we also had a suburb contractor) change orders were very rare. The project came in on time and only slightly over budget, which was mostly due to site prep conditions that couldn't have been predicted. The experience was so good that I'd like nothing better than to build another someday.

Paul Davis architects literally created a design for my condo that has truly become my dream house. Not only is my home a piece of art, but the functionality is completely in sync with my lifestyle. As anticipated, there were surprises and problems in construction, but Davis and his associates worked closely and diligently with McCraw, the contractor during the entire process, in making adjustments such that the project became a relative piece of cake. Friends coming over almost universaly mention the obvious "detail" in the design and unique functionality of my home. I am more than pleased with my selection with PDA and would truly give them an unqualified recomendation to someone who wants that "special home"
