Paul Schmidt was engaged on our project by Brian Bigelow, our general contractor. The project was a remodel, involving the addition of a new master suite, the conversion of an attached garage to a family room space, and the construction of a detached garage. Paul worked with us closely to develop a design that coordinated with our existing style, and the features he proposed combined elegance, function, and comfort. Paul took the initiative to propose design elements, but always made our own preferences his top priority. He communicated very well with us, and was accessible to discuss any issues that we needed to address. We were very fortunate to have Paul on this job, and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends, family, or anyone else. And our contractor tells us that the precision and accuracy of Paul's building plans help to expedite the county building permit process - no small thing.

Recently, I hired Paul as my architect on a garage conversion project. As this happens to be an item on my "bucket list", I wanted someone that could design my vision of a lofty one-bedroom, pin interest, fabulous looking, simple apartment where I could spend my golden years enjoying the surrounding park-like backyard. This had to be done to a dilapidated concrete garage. Paul listened, reviewed the many photos I sent, never said no, and designed a space that includes all my wishes. He has created building plans and worked to submit them in smooth order. He responds promptly, he delivers what he promises, and has made my adventure fun. All this for a reasonable price. I could not be happier to recommend him for someone looking for a creative, responsible, and pleasant architect .

He brings a wealth of knowledge about what's possible and practical for home remodeling as well as new construction; especially for urban infill projects. His perspective on design options and ideas is refreshing and contributes to a finished project that comes in on time and within budget. Paul's in depth understanding of zoning issues and his many business and government contacts contributes to a smooth project with no surprises.
