Period Architecture designed our Hampton style home back in 2014. Jeff, Jessica and Joe were very in tune with our needs and our wishes to include natural stone throughout the project. Their fine attention to detail is what makes this company so great. Period’s design of my home was exceptional. My wife and I were very pleased with the end result, we would totally recommend Period Architecture’s expertise to anyone building a new home!

Exceptional. Period Architecture designed a bespoke kitchen, family room, and master suite addition for our 200-year-old home and exceeded our expectations. Our project was more modest in size compared to many of their large scale homes, but Joe and Jessica put forth the same level of detail, creativity, and thoughtfulness in designing our dream home. Their ability to translate our wish list into a comprehensive set of plans made them a true partner in our project. They work seamlessly with builders and are widely respected as the best of the best. They are second to none.

We have worked with Period Architecture on two homes. Both were originally built in the 1930's and in need of complete renovation to suit our lifestyle. As exacting customers, we had a clear vision of what we were looking for. Joe Mackin heard us! With both creativity and mindfulness, Joe Mackin presented surprising solutions to existing conditions and new construction alike. Both homes seamlessly integrate the old with the new and function as completely modern residences. Best of all, they are truly beautiful and make us proud regularly. It was a pleasure to work with Period Architecture.

We hired Period Architecture Ltd. for an addition to an old farmhouse. The addition is in keeping with the rest of the house. Period Architecture was easy to work with and made good recommendations for contractors. We are completely satisfied with the project.

We found Period Architecture on Houzz -- their portfolio suggested that they understood how to update classic older homes in ways that did justice to the original -- and they did exactly that for us. We did a top-to-bottom renovation of a 1937 house, completely replacing a family room, changing the floorplan, and redesigning portions of the exterior. Joe and Jessica came up with smart solutions on space, and created beautiful designs that also made practical sense. They were a delight to work with. We couldn't be more pleased with their work.

We engaged Period for a few projects in our Malvern home - basement renovation, family room expansion, master bathroom renovation and exterior facade modifications. We worked with Jeff D and Jamie K and found them to be creative, while at the same time conscientious of the homeowner's perspective. Concept plans and construction documents were provided timely, to help keep our projects on schedule. We look forward to working with Period on all future projects we undetake at our home.

My husband and I purchased our dream property approx 2 years ago, complete with 150+ Year old field stone home and bank barn. We interviewed several architect firms that we felt had experience and knowledge in bringing thes types of homes back to life and with modern conveniences without sacrificing the integrity of the home. Joe Mackin and Jess Fogle did exactly that. They are professional and get to know your needs and style. This showed as there were very few revisions to the plans. Their approach and design elements are fantastic. Although our project is not complete (hopefully 11/17) we are simply can't wait to move in! We highly recommend Period Architecture!

We are undergoing a huge renovation to an old home, built in 1848. We have never really used an architect before and we were a bit nervous about the process. Period Architecture has been wonderful to work with! They are prompt in their communication which we really appreciate. Their knowledge and expertise have been impressive and their suggestions have been very helpful. Lastly, Period has been very good at staying within our budget which we respect.

We engaged Period Architecture to design an update and expansion of our home in Villanova. Their clear and thorough process starts with listening to, and prioritizing, our many wishes. Joe took care to balance aesthetics with functionality while also considering investment and environmental choices. Period Architecture lived up to its name in researching the historical cues of our home, a hybrid colonial/Pennsylvania farmhouse, and used this to inform a new, fresh solution. I recently read a book on American Architecture and it reinforced how Joe’s design decisions were true to the integrity of our home’s roots. His creative strategic thinking, client-centered values and meticulous attention-to-detail was consistent throughout our engagement. Our hope is that Period Architecture gets to revitalize our region’s rich architectural heritage while putting their unique mark on their projects.

We have a period Colonial home built in 1798 located in Valley Forge, PA. We choose Period Architecture because of their experience as well as a team based approach. We had many challenges in our renovation and I appreciated that I could tap into both Jeff and Joe's vast experience and knowledge. We needed the "Happy Meal", which is family room, larger kitchen and master suite. Jeff created and designed a space for us that exceeded all expectations. It's new that blends so well with the history of the house and looks like it was always there. Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable, creative and grounded. He listened to what I wanted and worked hard to make me happy. He also understood budgetary restraints and did everything he could to meet our budget and tackle difficult situations. He did all this making us laugh and keeping the project fun and moving along. I would highly recommend Period Architecture for any building needs that you have.

We have an old (1815) stone home with a 10yo frame addition. My 93 year old mother recently moved in with us, necessitating adding another addition with a first floor master suite for her and a dining room for the ancestral dining room furniture coming with her - pronto! Because of the original layout of our home, the addition was going to require some creative thinking to make it work for Mom, include all the features we wished for, be sensitive to the appearance of our old house and fall in our budget. Period Archetecture was recommended by a friend. We liked them right away and were encouraged by our initial discussions. A design was created - and it was perfection! The plan was everything we could have hoped for. We made only one change which was to put in a larger window in one wall. Period Archetecture helped with the selection of a contractor (with whom we are also highly satisfied). Our project is a month into construction and so far all is good. For anyone considering a construction project, I highly recommend Period Archetecture for their innovation and professionalism. One would be very pleased with how they listen to the owner and respond in their desiging as well as the promptness with which they follow through with their promises. Their commitment to creativity and service extends beyond the partners to the remainder of the staff.
