Dierdra did an excellent job with my addition. I would highly recommend her. The price was quite reasonable as well.

We reached out to Deidra after having a rough experience with another designer. She took our existing design/layout and made smart and valuable design suggestions. With each revision we refined and nailed down exactly what we were looking for and ultimately we were able to come out with our dream house. The plans were easy to read and we received great positive feedback from the county and our subcontractors. The permit process with the county took a whole 3 days and we were ready to go! We’ve recommended her to our friends and other builders regularly since finalizing our design.

Fabulous remodel and new addition to our home! The addition included a 2 car garage at the lower lever and an upper level that matched the existing floor. The upper level addition included a master bedroom / bath / closet, office and new entry to the home. The work out room is located at the garage level. The views are captured and the floor plan flows. Great work!

The plans for our addition for our beach house were so good! Deirdre did an excellent job figuring out what we would like and it’s better than I imagined. Also, the addition doesn’t look like an addition, it just flows and incorporated a wonderful deck in the center for Summer gatherings. We had some dinners out there last Summer. The construction company was able to follow the architectural plans with very few minor adjustments. We are very happy with our new expanded beach house that will be wonderful for our expanding family for years to come.

Deidra is a joy to work with. My husband and I purchased an undeveloped lot with the dream of building a small vacation home that we could easily expand to full time living once we are both retired. Working with us long distance, Deidra took time to get to know us through virtual meetings, phone calls and sharing pictures. We had an on site meeting at our lot, which really helped us see Deidra’s creativity. She is patient with questions, prompt with responses, flexible with changes and has great ideas. We landed on a design that we absolutely loved, but realized we had lost scope of our budget and needed to take a step back to make the project smaller. Deidra worked quickly on changes and we landed with a design that has all things we loved, but more within our scope for the “first” build. When the building plans were submitted for permit the timeframe with our county was 3 months. However, in just under a month we were pleasantly surprised that the plans were approved without a single question. This speaks to Deidra’s expertise. We look forward to our build becoming a reality and continue to work with Deidra on some of the design and color decisions. The 3D renderings are amazing. We also can’t wait to work with Deidra on the future addition.

It was a pleasure working with Deidra. She is very personable and extremely professional. We were originally looking for someone to put the finishing touches on a design that we had in mind, but Deidra had several valuable ideas that she added, resulting in what we feel is a great final result. Deidra was a pleasure to do business with, she did a great job laying out a living space in our downtown loft space. She converted a big empty space into a 3 bedroom , 2 bath loft with a large open living area with an expanded kitchen and updated bathrooms.

Deidra is a pleasure to work with. She listens to what our goals are and has an imagination to bring the project to life. We just completed a facelift on our house. Deidra created a 3D model for us and selected all the materials. She also worked with all of the trades. We will hire Pitkin Building Design for our next remodel project.

This review pertains to a design and consulting received from Deidra Pitkin of Pitkin Building Design. The project scope was the addition of an office, game room, two bathrooms, a common sitting area, and remodel of an existing bedroom and bathroom. The existing house was a 2,400 sf rambler on two-acres with enough free space to allow the addition to be on one of three sides, while maintaining the rambler design. She provided conceptual ideas and sketches that proved essential to the selection of where to place the addition. I found her extremely creative, including her recommendation to place a three-car garage below the addition. The final design was 850 SF of living space with the same size garage underneath. Her design blends in perfectly with the existing house and one would never realize there was an addition. I managed the construction and found interchanges with her during construction helpful, timely, accurate and efficient. If she would be gone for a day, she would let me know her time conflicts in advance. The finished product was excellent with very minimal construction rework. My recommendation for improvement involves the engineer she uses. The garage is a large area and has no posts. This mean close spacing of the TJ’s I beams. The engineer could have examined interferences for toilets to avoid field issues. There were far more questions for him than Deidra. On the positive side, he was always available and when design changes were required, they were received without delay. Overall, the project was excellent. From start to finish the project lasted 8 months. Had the foundations not been complicated, it easily could have been done a month faster. The accuracy of her as-built drawings complemented the fast pace too. Her work was accurate, on-time and had no mark-ups during the permitting process. She is extremely creative regardless of the area of focus. I will use her for future projects and recommend her highly.

I would highly recommend Pitkin Design. A total pleasure to work with. Our house turned out beautiful and could not have done it without the team. So nice to work with someone who truly cares about your design and needs when creating a home.
