Our work is a reflection of the people with whom we have worked and the places where they have chosen to build. Through a consciously collaborative process, we strive to create places uniquely suited to the environment and the people who inhabit them. We are committed to the pursuit of authentic design solutions, which emerge through a thoughtful investigation of each project’s unique challenges and opportunities. Our portfolio includes remote cabins, private urban residences, and mid-sized commercial projects. Common themes distinguish our work: simplicity and restraint, innovative site planning, environmentally sensitive design, mastery of detail, and the creative use of material and natural light. We aspire to design buildings that will age gracefully—places that will be a constant source of pride for our clients and all those who contribute to their making.

My husband and I are working on our 2nd project with rho architects and we couldn't be more pleased. We worked with Tim and Christopher on the design of the "Hill House" shown in the projects section of the rho website. We have since relocated to a smaller one level home needing an update and contemporary design features. We were so pleased with Tim and rho's work on our previous home that we couldn't imagine working with anyone else. Not only is Tim patient and fun, but he is extremely skilled and has an incredible design sense. The really fun part for us has been when Tim picks out 2-3 samples of tile, flooring, lighting, and even a doorbell, etc. saving us the hassle of having to look through a multitude of samples on our own. And his selections are always tasteful and beautiful. We totally appreciated the "deceptively simple design" of our Hill House and loved everything about that house and its design. It's been a great experience to work with Tim and all of the rho staff and we completely recommend them to anyone looking for an architectural firm.
We created a stunning chandelier for Rho Architect's "Parkside" project. Everything was concisely planned and placed by them, right down to the last minute detail. Their rough sketches that were provided to us to execute the look of the chandelier were spot on, and it was amazing to see the transformation from paper to pen. Rho Architects is a true professional, and works diligently to create inviting living spaces that fulfill their client's dreams.
My company, Lockhart|Suver, builds meticulously crafted custom homes in Seattle and the surrounding Puget Sound area. We're starting our fourth project with RHO scheduled to break ground Spring 2015. Working with RHO has been a pleasure both professionally and personally. Jim, Tim and Christopher produce inspired design solutions that not only satisfy their clients' program needs, but go further to enhance and expand their experience living in their home. I admire their work - simple, elegant and timeless modernist design with a playful quality that imbues each project with warmth and personal meaning. As a builder I look forward to any opportunity to partner with RHO. They're great team leaders, they provide thorough project documentation and detailing, and they are open to suggestions from the Contractor (that's us). There's a collaborative spirit on our RHO projects that seems to bring out the best in all parties and results in excellent architecture. Plus these guys are just plain fun to be around - they have a great sense of humor, which I think is necessary to make it through the ups and downs that come with the construction phase of every custom home.
We love RHO! We recently worked directly with Tim who managed our extensive remodel. Our situation was unique as we purchased a colonial home but had contemporary taste. Tim was able to come up with a plan for us that aligned with both eras as well as come up with smart, innovative and cost effective ideas. He has great style and insight and knows what he is doing. Oh and did I mention RHO stuck to the timeline and budget? Awesome!
Our realtor introduced us to RHO, and Tim and Robin have been our main architects. We had seen the Southpaw home they had designed, and were attracted to the fusion of old world provincial with modern vocabulary. Our new home is still under construction, and we love working with RHO and our builder, Andy Constan from CDB (Seattle). We are always amazed by the ability of good architects to solve problems while considering the owner's desires and tastes, and delivering on function and aesthetics. In previous remodels/construction projects we have undertaken, there was always a pre-existing structure which limited options. We always thought it would be great to have a blank slate, and design 'from scratch.' However, the choices are overwhelming, but Tim and Robin have guided us from early concepts through to the current construction supervision. This entire project has been fun, with 'team meetings' regularly, where our concerns and desires are respected. We look forward to moving in and being able to provide final photos in the spring.

I am an interior designer and have had the pleasure of working with RHO on several projects (both new construction and re-models). The team at RHO has a special blend of talent, vision and "down to earth-ness" that is both inspiring and refreshing. From an aesthetic standpoint I am particularly drawn to their ability to blend modern forms and architecture with more classical and at times traditional motifs; their work feels both crisp and clean while also warm and inviting. Clients are often coming to us with a wealth of images and inspiration ideas along with agendas on program and function for their homes. The RHO team is particularly skilled at synthesizing these requests into a successful architectural rhythm and narrative. Budget, time-lines and site supervision are also important issues to consider: The RHO team is smart, efficient and client focused when it comes to these as well. Lastly, (and simply put) they are a nice, smart, reasonable, and hard working bunch. - Lisa Staton / Lisa Staton Design (www.lisastaton.com)
