Robert is a very skilled architect and is a pleasure to work with! The new addition he designed for our house looks utterly seamless from the outside and is the perfect blend of modern and classic on the inside.

After considerable house hunting we settled on a ranch home in Cranford around the corner of our daughter. The house was too small for our needs. We added a second level and expanded the basement. We are very pleased with the results. Robert Algarin was the architect we chose to design our new home. He provided us with multiple renderings...moving the kitchen from one end of the house to the other... and guiding us through a well thought out process. We found him easy to work with and in the long run cost effective. I would strongly recommend him!

For many years we were reluctant to take on the project of expanding our family room off the kitchen in our home in Westfield. We simply felt that it would be too difficult to achieve something that we would really like. Our contractor recommended that we meet with Robert Algarin. From our first meeting with Robert we were extremely impressed. He really listened attentively to what we hoped to accomplish. His first step was to investigate with the town that no variance would be needed. Having spoken with other people doing similar projects this is a crucial thing for your architect to do up front so that there are no surprises later on. Once this was confirmed, Robert designed a new space for us that completely exceeded our expectations. He was super easy to work with and always took into consideration our suggestions and hopes. In order to achieve a loft like feel in the room with a certain aesthetic we wanted he even consulted with a structural engineer to utilize a special beam that was invisible that allowed for high ceilings in the room. He worked seamlessly with our contractor and was always available to consult with throughout the project. Robert's design completely transformed our home. The end result was better than we could ever have imagined. He is a true artist and a connsumate professional. We recommend his services and will certainly use him in the future if the need arises. Robert Algarin made the process of renovating and adding an addition to our home a pleasurable and smooth process. This was our first venture into anything of this nature. We had trepidation of the unknown, but Robert was involved with the project from the design phase to project completion. He was always available for questions, guidance, and support. Robert was very professional, patient, and paid great attention to detail. Our home required variances which Robert handled with aplomb. The home received an exterior renovation; roof, windows, siding, and doors. The addition to the home encompassed a mud room, half-bath, pantry, 2 closets, front and back porches, and redesigned entrance ways,. Our home now has a contemporary and classic design. The transformation is exactly as we planned. It is a beautiful home and we receive many complements on its appeal. We hired Robert Algarin to design a new house in Westfield. We thought it was very important to have an architect with local knowledge to help us navigate the town variance process. He helped us through this process (successfully), but more importantly, he helped us design our dream home. We brought a lot of (constantly changing) ideas to the table, and Robert was extraordinarily patient. Some architects are unwilling to listen to design ideas from their clients, while others will do whatever they are told. I think Robert is perfectly in the middle -- he incorporated a lot of our ideas, but he was also willing to give us his opinions. We would hire him again!

Robert Algarin is a wonderful architect and created a fabulous plan for the extension to our house. We pushed out the back at the basement, first and second floors, adding a spectacular kitchen, master bath, additional bedroom, mudroom, and basement space. We tried 2 other architects before he got our project and never pushed the button on either of them. when we found Robert, he vowed to design something we would finally BUILD. And WE DID! He created beautiful plans and solved all our issues that needed solving!! he was also tenacious in addressing any of our concerns along the way, making the development process fairly easy. we were so excited to finally make this thing happen!! once we had plans, Robert also gave us some excellent recommendations for builders and stayed involved in the process every step of the way. we have received so many compliments on our addition! we would heartily recommend him for anyone's renovation project who wants a solution-oriented architect who does beautiful work!!

Robert Algarin changed our house from the "ugly duckling" of the neighborhood to a house where neighbors stop to tell us how beautiful it now is. My husband and I had seen examples of his work over the years so when it was time to transform our house he was our first choice and we are not one bit sorry.

I hired Robert primarily because of his in-depth knowledge of Westfield zoning and planning regulations/laws. However, after working with him, I learned he has a great design aesthetic, good ideas and is very pragmatic and finds solutions to on site problems during construction. His fees are also very reasonable. I would highly recommend him. The best recommendation is that more than 14 years later, I am consulting with him now on design ideas for a house I am considering buying.

We really liked working with Robert. He was easy to work with, listened to our ideas and what we were looking for, and incorporated them into his plans. He is professional and knowledgeable about the Westfield regs and requirements, and always very responsive. He also helped us throughout the process, including at the housing board to get a variance approved (it was), and then supported us through some issues we had with our contractor. I would use Robert again and again.

We had been wanting to remodel and significantly expand our kitchen and add a master bath for several years. Over that time, Robert was the third architect we had contacted about it. He was the only one who proposed a design that did not require a building variance. His knowledge of local building codes and permit approval is excellent. Robert's design satisfied all of our needs/requests and fit well with the original design of our 80 year old colonial. We trusted Robert's advice on decisions we had to make regarding many of the details and are glad we did. Robert respected our preferences, but if he thought we were making a mistake or fretting about something insignificant, he didn't hesitate to say so. Robert was prompt, reachable and responsive and his rates were fair. He stayed engaged during the construction phase and worked well with our contractor on the one or two surprises that were found when the walls of this old house were opened up. I would not hesitate to use Robert again.

We had a wonderful experience working with Robert Algarin on our recent home remodel. Robert paid close attention to our must-have and wish list items and incorporated them into a thoughtful and innovative plan. Not only did Robert provide us with a beautiful and unique design, but he also was very personable and easy to work with and carefully guided us through the harrowing process of obtaining a variance. During construction, if any questions arose, Robert always made himself available to assist in any way he could. Our home turned out better than we could ever have imagined. Robert has done work for us several times over the past few years, ranging from plans for a new porch and entry to a new family room addition. He is always pleasant, professional and willing to go back and forth with ideas to be sure we are satisfied with the results.
