I just want to start out by saying, our experience with Sam could totally be unique, but I want to provide others with information based on our experience. If I went purely off of emotions, I would only give 1 star, but I’m trying to provide constructive feedback. When we first met with Sam back in February 2022, he got back to us right away and our meeting was very productive and informative. He was very nice and helpful and we decided to go with his services to draw up plans for a remodel/extension of our 1970’s home. He had plans drawn up quickly, but based on a few changes our designer made, we needed to have the plans changed. When things started to get a bit more complicated (remember, we were adding an addition onto the back of our house) he mentioned several times it would just be easier to tear the house down and start from scratch. That is all well and good, if you have the funds to do that. We did not. We got to a point where we thought the drawings were finalized, and Sam quickly was able to get them approved by the city. When we got the plans back, we noticed that there were still several items that needed to be addressed. And by no means do I feel they were HUGE items. Things like, a tub wasn’t in the correct spot, or the plans did not indicate the need for additional support beams. This is where things took a turn. For the next, I would say NINE months, we tried to get a hold of Sam to ask for these changes. We were well aware that we would need to pay him additional fees, and we were ok with that. Time after time we were told “I’m out of town”, “I’m on vacation”, or just not respond at all. Yes, we could have just cut our losses and found someone else, but we had already invested the time and money into Sam and wanted to resolve the issues with him directly. At this point it’s 2023 and NOTHING has been done with our remodel because we cannot get a set of plans that has the changes we need for a contractor to start work. Being completely fed up with the whole situation, we finally decided to cut our loss and start all over from the beginning. We found someone in May 2023, he was great. Provided us 3d renderings, was more than willing to make changes and charged us $4000 less. By end of July 2023, we had our final plans completed and approved by the city, in August, this particular architect recommended a builder and just this last week of September 2023 we broke ground on construction. I really cannot tell you why Sam did not want to respond back to us. He could have just been honest and said I would rather not continue working for you. We would respect that a whole lot more than just being ignored and given excuses why he could not get back to us. So, to sum things up, Sam was not the right choice for us. Hopefully others have a much better experience than we did.

We’ve worked with Sam for several years now, he draws all of our house plans as well as home addition plans. His previous experience and knowledge as a general contractor is invaluable. Not only does he understand the design process, he has in-depth knowledge of the construction process as well and passes this knowledge on to the homeowner as they make their design choices. He is always willing to go out to the client’s home, take a full set of measurements and work with them to complete the design. He gets the plans back quickly and his prices are very competitive. Sam made our dream come to life. He was amazing at knowing just how to incorporate everything we wanted in our dream home. He was full of ideas and so much knowledge. Not only did he draw amazing house plans for us, but he went above and beyond! Sam gave us a list full of sub contractors that he had worked with and trusted. He was always willing to work around our crazy schedule to meet early in the morning or on weekends. He was always just a call or text away throughout the whole building process. As our home was being constructed he regularly checked in at the job site and took amazing photos of the progress. We are beyond happy with our experience with Sam! We would highly recommend him to anyone looking to build or remodel a home!

Sam designed a beautiful home for us. We love it. We drew up our plans and told him what we want and he made the plans real and beautiful. Our builder made his plans our reality. He comes highly recommended.

I was impressed with Sam from our first phone call. He answered quickly and made an appointment for as soon as I was available. He worked with our busy schedules. He was so pleasant to work with and genuinely cared about us and our project. He gave us welcomed advice and designed a beautiful add-on for us. I would would recommend Sam for any job - big or small. Our job is a 1920s historic bungalow and he gave me so many great ideas on how to make the space work. He was always prompt to answer my calls and help me through this process. He drew up the as is plans and the changes in order for me to give to contractors and to submit to the city planning office. He also gave me so much practical advice as to the whole remodeling process. We will use this company again when we build a new garage. Thank you!!!
