Sean's talent can especially be seen in hand drawn perspectives he often provides to his clients. It is rare today to meet an Architect that can draw by hand to scale to show you what he is imagining. Building for Sean and his team is to be part of a team where the building and the client matter most and everyone works together. Some of our most dramatic experiences in working with an Architect's drawings in terms of accuracy have been with Sean's office. As a builder you can be sure, if they drew it, you need to be sure it looks like that in real life, because it should. It is always a pleasure to work for Sean and his entire team.

I've worked with Sean and his great team in the office on several projects, but this one particular project in Ridgefield was definitely my best experience with Sean. It was a difficult three phase project that included a renovation of a carriage house, pool house and main house remodeling. There are not enough complementary words to describe the wonderful experience when working with Sean O'Kane and his office. We built our 'dream' house, something we had never done before. We really weren't sure exactly what we wanted. Since we were in an historic district in our town, we knew we wanted the house to fit into the era of existing homes. Sean accomplished that and more. He is amazingly detailed, to the point that you will sometimes wonder-" even that?", but many years later, I still will notice a certain detail I may have questioned and am so thankful that we chose Sean. My greatest compliment is when people think our home is an antique! Sean is the most professional contractor I have ever worked with and , believe me, has the patience of a saint! Sean and his team did a complete restoration/update to our property. A consummate professional who along with his staff are most creative and insightful in taking ideas and turning them into realities. I will use always hire his firm for my future projects.

While working with Sean and his team on the plans for a renovation of our existing home, a new property came on the market. Before we even put a bid on the new house, Sean was willing to join us to evaluate it. The home was originally designed by Ed Wallace, a well-known local architect in a traditional but understated colonial style, and we wanted to expand and completely renovate the house, but maintain the look and feel of the original design. Working closely with us to fully understand our family’s needs and lifestyle, Sean created a floor plan that to this day has been just perfect for the six of us. Furthermore, by extending the architectural style of the original home throughout the new construction, the exterior and interior of the old and the new parts of the house are indistinguishable – one of our key objectives. Sean and his team were great to work with, contributed so much creativity to the project while at the same time being respectful of our budget. We love our home the way Sean designed it and we’d highly recommend Sean and his team to anyone contemplating a renovation / construction project – large or small.

While living in the SF Bay area, our family bought a home in Ridgefield that needed a re-fresh. SOK and his team were wonderful. They listened well. Took great notes. Worked with our town and contractor and executed our vision.... 3,000 miles away! What I love the most? 1. How fast they turn edits around. 2. Their trained eyes. I would say, "Why does this room not work as it is?" They would come back with smart, easy to execute solutions. 3. How warm and nice their office is.

We had seen a number of attractive, well-done renovations in our town and it turned out that Sean O’Kane AIA Architect P.C. had been involved in almost all of them! As a result we hired Sean to help us with a total “gut” renovation of our home, including preserving the historic central structure and rebuilding several wings of the house from the ground up. It was a large project and we had no prior experience with construction or renovation work. Sean and his team provided expert guidance, a relentless attention to detail and thorough follow-through every step of the way through the process – including multiple design revisions, developing very detailed plans that left no “gray area” subject to later interpretation, securing town wetland and zoning approvals, selection of materials, interviewing builders, comparing competing bids from builders and ensuring they were bid on a consistent basis, vendor selection, appliance selection, and detailed quality control at every phase. Sean and team were on site, overseeing the work and helping out, every week throughout the whole process, not just at the design and beginning stages. Largely because of their tireless efforts, our project was completed on time and on budget, and the outcome was consistent with our initial hopes and expectations. Sean and his team hold themselves and everyone involved with their projects to a high standard of excellence that had a significant beneficial impact on our renovation, and which showed through clearly in the final result. I can honestly say that without their deep involvement in all phases of our project and the high level of experience and care they exhibited throughout, we would not have had such a spectacular outcome (and might not have made it through the process!).
