The Semple Brown team provided architectural and design services for a gut remodel of our 1650 square foot condo. Achieving our goals of upgrading from 1BR to 2BR and maximizing our downtown views required a complete flip of the original layout--for example, a bedroom was placed in the original kitchen location. Adding to the challenge, plumbing drains could not be relocated as no new concrete slab penetrations were permitted. The Semple Brown team miraculously solved this floorplan puzzle with a functional layout that provides both private and public functions elegantly in a relatively small footprint. In addition to the interior design, Semple Brown worked with the Historical District to gain approval of an exterior modification. Semple Brown encouraged homeowner input and provided gentle guidance when these ideas strayed from the overall design aesthetic. Very pleased with the team effort and results!

Modern Craftsman

Tom Gallagher at Semple Brown designed the house at 885 Milwaukee in which we provided stair, wood, glass and metal custom components. It was smooth and easy working with Tom on problem solving difficult components. His drawings where articulate and his ideas where creative while considerate of real world variables. I highly recommend Semple Brown for unique, inspired and tasteful modern design.

Working with Semple Brown Architects has been a wonderful experience. The designers, Tom Gallagher and Sarah Brown, created a great team experience during our project. Both Tom and Sarah were engaged in all programming ideas brought forth and designed an extraordinary home for us. They considered not only our programmatic needs but also how the house would fit into the existing neighborhood by addressing scale, massing and material choices while still creating a contemporary and updated home. Tom was always professional, prompt and accessible. In addition, he has expert knowledge of the zoning and building codes and made sure that all design decisions reflected those requirements, resulting in a worry-free permitting process. Semple Brown’s attention to detail meant that the contractor had a great set of construction drawings from which to work. In addition, Tom’s construction administration was invaluable; the contractor’s questions were always answered quickly and with solutions so as not to slow the work. Simply put, we highly recommend Semple Brown Architects.

186 Lighting Design Group - Gregg Mackell

As a lighting consultant, I get the privilege of working with some of the best architects on the planet. I've been fortunate enough to work with Tom Gallagher from Semple Brown on a couple of projects over the last couple of years. I just got a glimpse at the professional photos of our most recent project together and the finished product is absolutely stunning. The architects at Semple Brown are extremely creative and talented with the vision to make your project a special place. A Semple Brown home is the kind of place where you drive away and can't help but rubber-neck one last look as you drive away......because it's just that incredible and you can't believe it's yours. As the cherry on top, they are fun to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Semple Brown to anyone looking to build a new home.
