We recently worked with Allen at Sofiov Design to remodel our primary bathroom and couldn't be happier with the results. We worked with Sofiov Design for our whole house remodel in 2024. Allen is a fantastic design partner to make any remodeling project easier! He was quick to learn about our style, made the decision making very easy for us by shortlisting design finishes. We had very specific design elements asks that they were able to incorporate throughout the design. Allen was able to provide us referrals for appliance shopping, cabinetry and other finishing material and was present where necessary to help us with finalizing the material. The team (Allen, Emi) were super responsive via email / calls during the design as well as build process which is important because there are always things that come up and you need assistance. I am already planning my next project and would love to hire Sofiov team without a doubt!

In addition to all of the usual traits you hope to find in a designer, (knowledge of the industry, responsiveness, ability to communicate) Alan delivered above and beyond our expectations. We were first impressed by the depth and precision of the 3D designs that captured everything we had discussed; It made it much easier to envision our kitchen remodel. He was so inspiring that what had originally started as only a kitchen remodel expanded to the dining and living room, bathrooms and more. Alan guided us through what, at times, seemed like an overwhelming number of options, showrooms, materials and combinations. Being mindful of the budget and our wish for warm modern interiors without excessive maintenance he navigated expertly through all stages of the process. Alan has a great eye for design and found some newer materials for our walk-in shower tiles and bathrooms that look spectacular. Overall, we were impressed with his problem solving and creative responses to any obstacles in delivery and our timeline. We met Allen when our home renovation project first started and he was the interior designer for our project. We did not have too much good ideas about our design but he patiently discussed whatever we had in our heads and planed out a really nice interior design for us. He was very helpful and professional every time we had questions to ask him, and he also encouraged us to ask as many questions as we need to, which we did and he has answered them all. Now our home renovation project is finally finished and we couldn’t be happier that we have done it. We really appreciate Allen’s professionalism and attention to details. Allen was our interior designer for two projects. He did a complete remodeling for us 5 years ago and just finished a ADU project for us this year. He is the one person who has made these projects so much easier for us. He worked with our architect at the design phase, did all the material shopping with us, and consulted with our general contractor during the construction. Allen is professional but always listens to our ideas and tries to incorporate them into the design. He is responsive and responds to our emails, messages and phone calls promptly. When things go wrong, he often is the one we call. He can either solve our problems or direct us to the right person who can. If we ever need to do another project, we will definitely give him a call.

We worked with Allen for a kitchen remodel. He did a fantastic job on our design. He was thoughtful and innovative. He listened to what we hoped for in the kitchen design and came up with a design that is truly fantastic! He then supported us through each stage of the materials selection scheduling all the appointments for us to select materials and providing useful insights into our choices each step of the way. We hired Allen for for a kitchen/family room remodel in addition two bathrooms. His patience, professionalism and thoroughness really stood out. Allen was our interior designer for a complete remodel, including the kitchen and bathrooms. Our family loves the beautiful home he designed for us, and he made the entire process as smooth as possible. I would work with Allen again and I recommend him to my friends. Process: I gave Allen my architect’s drawings, inspiration photos, and a doc outlining my functional requests. Allen gave me 3D rendering within a few weeks, which I loved and needed little revisions. Then we went to the stores together to finalize all the materials - tiles and floors, cabinets and slabs, hardware, tubs and sinks, etc. Given we agreed on the 3D rendering, I only had to confirm Allen’s recommendations or choose from a few candidates. Finally he put all required materials together in a spreadsheet and helped me to get quotes from the stores. I only had to review and pay. This in turn made working with general contractor much easier since all design choices were made and materials secured way in advance. Result: attached some photos. Large-scale remodeling is complex and challenging, but working with capable and responsible designers such as Allen made it an enjoyable and eye opening learning experience. I am grateful for having worked with Allen on our home.

1. Allen was punctual in visiting us at home, taking photos needed to generate 3D renderings. 2. Spent a very generous amount of time on a Friday: taking us to the showroom to expose us to the different kinds of slabs for the kitchen counter, bathroom walls, bathroom floors, bathroom fixtures, kitchen sink and the kitchen cooktop. He was extremely patient while educating us on the pros and the cons of the different materials for the kitchen countertops always keeping in mind the colors of our cabinets and floor as well as our budget. While selecting bathroom fixtures he advised us keeping in mind the stylistic aspects of the latest designs, the finishings that would best match the bathroom tiles and of course our budget. He also directed us to different websites in order to lock in good prices. 3. He was meticulous in preparing a spreadsheet to track purchases and deliveries. He also helped us in securing invoices and negotiating the price with various suppliers. 4. We had 3 choices of slabs for kitchen countertops and were having difficulty in deciding amongst the 3. Allen gave us very detailed 3D renderings for the kitchen and the bathrooms with several options for slab, vanity. etc., which helped us immensely in making the right choices. 5. Overall, Allen is very creative, patient, knowledgeable, organized and meticulous. He was also prompt in answering our questions and also our requests for his advice. We had a wonderful experience working with him and would highly recommend him.

Allen was wonderful to work with! When embarking on our bathroom remodel, my husband and I had a basic idea of what we wanted, but some of our ideas clashed with each other and we had a bunch of semi-conflicting inspiration pictures of things we liked. We were first time remodelers and were honestly quite lost. Allen helped us solidify our vision and pick out really gorgeous finishes that fit our vision. I went into this project wanting a bathroom that felt like a spa for our guests, and almost every guest we've had since finishing the project has shared how much they love it and how much it feels like a spa. Allen nailed it, and the 3D renderings were SUPER helpful for those of us (me) who find it very challenging to see how store samples will actually come together into a full bathroom. Allen also worked seamlessly with our general contractor to make sure they had everything they needed for permits and construction. We didn't have to worry about anything.

Allen is a fantastic designer and it has been a pleasure working with him. Our project mostly involved remodeling kitchen, several bathrooms, and master suite. From the beginning, Allen was able to understand the elements and directions we would like through on-site visits and email communications. He works fast and provides multiple options to enable us to visualize and explore design ideas, which has been super helpful. I want to highlight two areas where I feel Allen excels. First, his designs are amazing and beautiful. He is able to incorporate high-end software to provide the exact look down to the choice of materials. His final renderings (after materials are somewhat finalized) are magazine quality. Second, his knowledge of materials / brands to choose from makes it such an easy process. He would understand the client's needs including aesthetics, budget, etc, and propose detailed options. Better yet, his proposals are usually easy to source, and our contractors are also familiar with. We are super happy it was a seamless process to go from ideas to designs to renderings and finally to a transformed space that matches the renderings.
