We just completed our house design with Sonoran Design Group (SDG) and we love it!! Gary and his team did a fabulous job. Gary listened carefully when we described what was important to us in a home and incorporated those things into his design. He also designed the home on the lot to maximum effect. We will have wonderful views from each room thanks to his thoughtful approach. In addition, Gary did an excellent job managing relations with the HOA during a demanding approval process. He was also very responsive – no emails or phone calls went into the ether here! Anytime we had a question or concern, he always got back to us very quickly. We highly recommend SDG and would absolutely use them again.

We interviewed several architects and custom home builders to design/build a 3,400 SF custom home on our 1.6 acre estate lot located in Oro Valley, AZ. SDG had the best attitude and most patience in discussing conceptual design and providing advice prior to signing a contract with them. We appreciate that they also assisted us with selecting surveyors, soils analysis and civil/structural engineers. Ultimately we had a southwestern modern contemporary design with a great view of the nearby mountains. Our questions were fully and clearly answered and our input was fully taken in to account. I would recommend SDG without hesitation to anyone wishing to build a quality high end home!

Gary and his team do great work. I took one of their stock plans, modified it and they were very attentive to the details. Would use again and wouldn’t hesitate referring anyone I know to use them.

This is the first time that my husband and I are building our own custom home. My wife and I bought 3.3 acres with great views of the Catalina Mountains in NW Tucson. We hired the Sonoran Design Group to complete the design of our stabilized adobe custom home and we were not disappointed. Gary and his staff were always responsive to questions and modifications, and displayed the knowledge, attention to detail, and patience that we needed to get through this process. The process was complicated by the quirks of dealing with an earthen material and regulators that are not always familiar with its properties, as well as clunky code requirements that do not always translate well to this building material. The firm's ability to put together an effective team of associated professionals with knowledge in this area made these little bumps in the road a lot more manageable. Thanks!

I hired Sonoran Design Group to design and draw construction house drawings for my wife and me after seeing one of Sonoran's stock floor plans that we thought we could make work on our lot. We ended up using that plan with quite a bit of minor and major modifications. The process was handled in a timely manner and with great design solutions to our ideas. Gary and Justin at SDG did such a great job for me. I started with one of their standard plans and made a number of alterations to personalize it to our lot and our needs. They had many exceptional recommendations during the entire process, but especially in the layout phase. They were patient with my lack of understanding as this is the first time we have built our own home. Their detail to the design and plans made the drafting of the construction documents an easy step in the process Our plans were approved with no comments from the county within 48 hours of the date of submission - proof that SDG knows and was prepared for the entire process. They also referred me to an exceptional septic engineer, whose plans were seamlessly incorporated in to our plans. I strongly recommend their services.

I hired SDG four years ago to design a 700+ sq. ft. addition to our home. The plans were excellent and we sailed through Pima County's permitting process. We love our new, improved house and extended porches. I liked working with them so much that I'm currently working on a project for my son and his family. I'm sure it will be wonderful as well.
