My husband and I had an extremely challenging whole-home remodel, which was an original lake cottage from the 1950's with an addition done in the early 1990's. We love our location but the home layout made it so difficult for us to enjoy our space, let alone entertain guests. We had a list of improvements that were a mile long in order to make the house our dream home! Tatiana Darnell is the owner of Space Lab Design Services, an architectural and interior design firm, in Kirkland. The staff of the Miele Experience Center in Bellevue recommended her. They told us that she was extremely knowledgeable and very easy to work with. We needed an architect to take over the plans and advise our contractor because the original architect had recently passed away. For Tatiana, it was not an easy entry point into our whole house remodeling project. But she has been an exceptional find. She is very creative and offers design options where we can pick what we like and then fully refines the preferred choice. Her ideas are fully grounded in solid engineering principles which she carefully explains when we ask. On top of that, she is extremely prompt and responsive. We’ve never had anyone who turns around work so quickly, often overnight when we make an inquiry or ask a clarifying question. Her skills have greatly helped us.
