Scott from Spring Studio Architecture was great to work with. He helped us transform and dark basement into a bright, modern, and functional space. He was patient and thorough as we went through several revisions of our design. He was onsite throughout construction and his attention to detail helped us every step of the way! As a client with no knowledge of ultimate scope of the result that I hope to accomplish, I found Scott very intuitive about my needs and knowledgable about all that was required to get the results that I wanted. He was totally mindful of my price limitations and guided by my aesthetic. His willingness to help source fixtures etc., should I ask for it, was gratifying but never intrusive. Our project involved adding renovations to our early-19th century Quaker Meetinghouse so that it met ADA standards -- without sacrificing the historical integrity of the building. Scott's design not only achieved the goal of ADA compliance but did so without resorting to any 20th or 21st technology (except for the requisite automatic door openers and a few electric lights). This was the first major construction project on our building in well over 100 years -- and it has made the building far more inviting and useful to everyone who comes in contact with it. I've done numerous tours of the renovation for people who've known the building for decades -- and all of them have said more of less the same thing about the end result: "It looks like it's always been here." The highest compliment I can imagine. Scott not only designed the renovation but also interacted with the local authorities for certification of the building changes and face-to-face interactions with the construction crews doing the actual work. Thanks to his tact and expertise, there were absolutely no interpersonal disagreements with the authorities or the work crews. HIs research into making sure the requisite added brick and stone matched the rest of the building to a remarkable extent, and his implementation of the automatic door openers was praised by professionals in personal mobility issues.
