Steven Young Architect + Fine Home Builder

Our experience with Steven Young was excellent. He is unique when it comes to the "Design-Build" category of Architects and Contractors. Steven's "eye" for detail and the personal aesthetic of his client result in projects that have that added "wow factor". Being a very straight forward communicator also makes Steven a pleasure to work with. He tells you his opinion ( or draws it and shows you) in a manner that can make any 'non-professional' feel like they've been doing this for years. Lastly, Steven has been doing this a long time and that allows him to have a very large "tool chest" of vendors that can cope with even the most unique and challenging design details.

Steve renovated my studio apartment in Boston's Back Bay. He transformed it from a less-than-nice unit in a great building to the nicest unit. I have since sold the unit, but it definitely could have won a "small spaces" award on one of those design/renovation websites. Steve functioned as both the architect and GC, which worked well. I got just what I wanted for a very reasonable price. The unit sold for a record price at the time for a studio in a non-amenity building in the Back Bay.

My assessment of the design and construction project that Steven Young worked with us on is simply stated: remarkable. We engaged Steven to do a design consult on a bathroom remodel when we first moved into our 18th century CT farmhouse. Our goal was to modernize the master bath, but stay consistent with the feel of the rest of the house. Steven approached the product wearing many hats: the creativity of a designer, the practicality of a contractor, and as a consultant who helped us to accomplish the project within our budget. I cannot say enough positive things about the work performed and the timeliness of completion. I don't often write reviews but I felt it necessary because we were so thrilled with the final product and with the experience working with Steven Young's entire team. I look forward to when we start our next project...the kitchen!

Steve worked with us on a substantial Back Bay (Boston) condo renovation -the end result was stunning. Steve's eye for design, while being mindful of the expense side, is unparalleled. Our master bath magically became a spa-like oasis, and our kitchen became the centerpiece of our home. We would not hesitate to use Steve's services again.

I first met Steve Young several years ago when he hired my office to market the high end homes he was designing and building in the South End of Boston. These homes sold very quickly and it was the first of several successful projects we have worked on together. I subsequently hired Steve to design and consult on my summer house renovation in Westport, MA. This project went extremely well and the finished product it amazing. I have recommended Steve to several clients for design and construction projects and all have gone extremely well. Steve's design skills are exceptional.
