Robby provided excellent drawings that allowed us to choose the right configuration of our home expansion from the start, and to fine-tune aspects as construction moved along. Throughout the project, he collaborated with us in applying design philosophies and construction methods of particular interest, such as using green building techniques and replicating the home's original modern architecture. He was a joy to work with on a day-to-day basis.

We used Robby recently for an addition to our house and we're very pleased with the results. The addition seemlessly blended with the existing structure and maintained the integrity of our mid century modern architecture. Robby Smith, the principal architect of Studio One, designed a freestanding home office/writing studio, as well as kitchen/bath renovations in our 90-year-old house. We began the process with him leading my husband and me through an extraordinary inventory of our needs, desires, fantasies, and financial constraints – leading to a prioritized list of project components that reflected his talent at understanding us and how our physical surroundings might best serve us. The designs reflect both that understanding and Robby’s comprehension of what new elements would work with the original house and with the neighborhood. He did a considerable amount of detail work researching and recommending lighting and plumbing fixtures, colors, materials, and the like, and he worked closely with us and with the contractor all the way to the punch list. Four years later, I am struck by how little we did together that I regret or wish we had done differently. It continues to be wonderful to live and work in such beautiful and functional spaces. Robby Smith gets my highest recommendation. It was a steady pleasure for us to deal with him throughout the project.
