Jed Duhon and the team at Steinbomer were great to work with. We were impressed with their attention to detail and their constant advocacy for the original design intent of the client. Jed was unflappable when in the throws of construction and the whole Steinbomer group was responsive throughout. Besides that, they were FUN to work with. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a truly professional experience and a BEAUTIFUL outcome. This project has some challenges with the site work but you would never know it to look at the results. BRAVO!

We could not be happier with the work Jed and Ben from SB&V architects produced for us. We could not have been paired with a more perfect team for our project. They listened to every detail during the drawing phase. When it came to the construction phase they were equally as impressive. They were our advocates throughout the construction phase and we felt as though we had complete access to Jed and Ben. They have a way of making you feel like you are their only project. I purchased a home in the Allandale neighborhood of Austin, TX in 2012. The house needed a complete refresh if not a full remodel - good bones - but we were doing some construction work and needed an architect. First of all - the people at Steinbomer, Bramwell & Vrazel were absolutely indispensable during the construction process. They were my eagle-eyed advocates and coaches on making sure the drawings we paid for were the ones being built. No disrespect to any construction company, but miscommunications will happen, and having a licensed architect looking over your shoulder greatly decreases that problem. Second - they listen. Jennifer Vrazel met with us, our contractor, the supervisor - again and again until we got what we wanted on paper. They were fast, and helped speed our project along without unusual delays - and they did exactly what we asked. We're contemplating a master addition and perhaps a second floor. The first company we'll call is SBV Architects.

When we decided to build a new home, we quickly returned to Robert Steinbomer and crew—who had remodeled our house fifteen years ago. Our working relationship had been not only positive, we had become good friends. Steinbomer,Bramwell & Vrazel is a firm that eschews the starchitect ego to address the client’s needs, with acute attention to budgetary concerns, and with a sensitive upgrade to any aesthetics you’ve dreamed up. Robert and Jennifer (Vrazel) first listen to your ideas and respond with choices that help you come up with designs that you cannot quite articulate. The working relationship is warm, realistic and creative. They suggested an ace contractor (Risher Martin), engineers, and efficiently dealt with city permit issues for a project that had significant topographical challenges. They were attentive throughout the construction project and have been champions of our unique home with professional organizations and awards. Here is an example of creative collaboration between client, architect and builder: We asked for a glassed-in dining room that juts out into the woods. Cantilevered over a ravine with floor to ceiling glass on three sides would be lovely but the cost was prohibitive. Instead, with respect to our budget and our aesthetic sense, the architect and builder put their heads together and came up with an affordable and beautiful space which has attracted several design professionals with its wow factor. They made our house economical by imaginative use of materials, by skillfully siting the house on a narrow, wooded lot, and by adhering to a thoughtfully planned construction schedule. Great care was given to protecting the trees and creek, resulting in a unique home that magnifies the natural beauty of the lot. SBV’s architectural range of residential, and public and commercial, projects is vast. Their sensitivity to the client’s needs and aesthetics is rare. No wonder we continue to hold them in high esteem and champion their work – and they have earned the reputation they have throughout central Texas.

We are a high-end builder and remodeler of homes in Austin. We've had the privilege of collaborating with SBV on five projects in the last four years. Their team is talented, organized, professional and a pleasure to deal with, both during design and then throughout the construction process.
